PV Array Simulators help improve solar power production.
2015-09-01 14:31:06| Industrial Newsroom - All News for Today
Supporting use in laboratories and on manufacturing lines, N8937APV (208 Vac) and N8957APV (400 Vac) help engineers develop, verify, and maximize performance of inverter maximum power point tracking (MPPT) algorithms and circuits. Both single-output, programmable DC power sources can simulate I-V curve characteristics under different environmental conditions. Additionally, simulators provide built-in voltage and current measurements and autoranging output from 500–1,500 V and 10–30 A.

Utility Scale Solar Shoots Sky High
2015-08-31 18:54:00| Transmission & Distribution World
California Leads the Way Utilities have embraced utility-scale solar generation in a big way. In June, large solar installations at American utilities cranked out a record high 2.8 gigawatt-hours of electricity, up more than one-third from the previous year. Utility scale facilities have a capacity of at least 1 megawatt. Solar voltaic capacity grew by 47.5 percent from June 2014 to June 2015, according to a new report by the U.S. Energy Information Administration. In that time, utility solar thermal capacity was up more than 18 percent. read more

Solar Power Advocates Win Temporary Victory in Nevada Energy Debate
2015-08-31 09:05:54| Electronics - Topix.net
President Obama must be happy about what the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada did Aug. 26 in light of his personal crusade to save the solar power industry and crush the forces of Charles Koch and fossil fuel. Solar power advocates scored the first victory in what seems like nothing but a typical rate-hike fight waged between environmentalists and industrialists at the bureaucratic level.
