Dutch regulator warns information number holders of sharper rules

(Telecompaper) Dutch regulator ACM has informed information number holders about stricter rules. The new rules come on the back of a non-stop stream of questions and complaints about expensive call forwarding and payment services. The tightened rules apply to 0900, 0906 and 0909 numbers.

Orange expects investment to peak at EUR 7.4 bln in 2018, before declining from 2019

(Telecompaper) Orange reaffirmed the priorities outlined in the 'Essentiels2020' five-year strategy, launched in March 2015, and provided more detailed financial targets for the years to come at its Investor Day in London. The group said it plans to reach a peak investment spend of EUR 7.4 billion in 2018 and expects this to decline from 2019. It is guiding for adjusted EBITDA growth of around 2 percent in 2017, with an acceleration in 2018 and positive growth across 2019 and 2020.

Jamii Telecom launches 4G network in Kenya under Faiba brand, first to offer VoLTE

(Telecompaper) Jamii Telecom has launched a service called Faiba 4G Mobile, making it the fifth telecom operator to be licensed in the Kenya. It will operate under the prefix 0747 and will be the first to provide voice over LTE (VoLTE).  Faiba 4G Mobile will offer free voice calls, and will be able to do high definition voice and video after investing USD 50 million in its network infrastructure and successfully launched commercial trials.

Broadcom raises interim div by over 70% after strong Q4, FY results

(Telecompaper) For the long term, Broadcom said it will continue to target annual revenue growth of 5 percent and that it will be raising its target for adjusted gross margin from greater than 60 percent to 65 percent and its adjusted operating margin from 45 percent to 47.5 percent. Broadcom will also be raising its long-term target for free cash flow from 35 percent to 40 percent of net revenue.
