Dutch Fixed Telephony 2017-Q3

This report analyses developments in the Dutch mass market (consumer & SOHO) for fixed telephony in the third quarter 2017, and compares the findings with previous quarters. Asus unveils NovaGo, first Windows ARM laptop with gigabit LTE

(Telecompaper) Asus has unveiled what it says is the world's first gigabit LTE-capable laptop, the Asus NovaGo (TP370). CEO Jerry Shen announced the new laptop at the Snapdragon Technology Summit in Hawaii, as the first in a range of 'always-connected PCs' developed by Microsoft and Qualcomm.

Google pulls YouTube from Amazon Fire TV, Echo Show

(Telecompaper) Google has pulled YouTube from Amazon's Echo Show and Fire TV in a dispute over carrying each other's products. Google told the site Engadget that it would not support YouTube on the Echo Show or Fire TV because Amazon would not carry Google products like Chromecast, Google Home and Nest and would not support the Chromecast on Amazon Prime Video.

Telecom Italia confirms it's exploring network spin-off, Mediaset deal

(Telecompaper) Telecom Italia (TIM) has finally confirmed that it will take steps to explore the separation of its national fixed-line network to address concerns from the Italian government, regulators and its competitors. In a statement following a board meeting called to discuss the 2018-2020 Business Plan and approve the 2018 preliminary budget, TIM said it would look into a possible spin-off of the network. "Over the coming months, the management will continue to examine various hypothesis to establish whether network separation is needed to address institutions' input and to unlock value," said the company.

Dish's Ergen steps aside as CEO to lead new mobile business
