Tasks Consultancy support is sought in the field of system engineering to contribute to the definition and design of EPS second generation EPSSG. The key person would be a member of the EPSSG System Team in the Low Earth Orbit Division LEO at EUMETSAT and be involved in supporting the phase B system engineering activities related to the specification, design and development of the EPSSG system. The support will include general system aspects but will focus on external system interfaces. The tasks and responsibilities of the key person to be undertaken during the EPSSG Phase B will typically include the following Coordination and definition of technical interfaces with the external partners and service providers Organisehold meetings and workshops with external and major internal interface partners to establish interface detailsagreements Maintenance of Interface Requirement Documents IRDs for all system interfaces using DOORs Generation and maintenance of the system Interface Control Documents ICD Analysis and justification of the system design in the area of interfaces Provide input to the system design justification document, especially concerning interface aspects Monitor lower level technical specifications for compliance to system level requirements Provide support to general system engineering activities Analysis and trade off activities Preparation and maintenance of system technical specification Ad hoc internal reviews System level formal reviews SRR, PDR Provide support to progress meetings Support IVV activities Essential requirements Proven knowledge and handson experience with the following is mandatory A University degree in the domain of engineering, science, or equivalent At least 5 years of experience in the field of engineering of space andor ground systems Experience of large space systems space andor ground segment Experience of interface management and definition Familiarity with mechanisms and tools for detailed interface definition Capability to prepare and manage IRD and ICD Capability to clearly document a system design and justification The keyperson shall be able to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision, have a systematic approach to work, be able to plan hisher work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks. Heshe shall have the capability to write accurate and consistent technical documentation. Good communication skills verbal and written are important.
