VN1412 In this role, you will be responsible for the overall management of activities relating to Payload Data Processing Systems for Low Earth Orbit missions during development within the Ground Segment. During the EPSSG Ground Segment GS development phase, you will manage the engineering definition of the Payload Data Processing component, industrial activities associated with the procurement and development of the component and all the related activities leading to the integration, verification and validation. Following handover to operations, you will be involved in postdelivery support activities in particular during the operational validation of the EPSSG Ground Segment and later on during the satellites and overall system commissioning activities. To join us, you will require a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related discipline, plus practical experience of meteorological, earth observation or remote sensing nearrealtime, highly available, instrumentrelated data processing systems. In particular, you should be skilled in specifying, designing, implementing, integrating and testing Payload Data Processing Systems, leading teams, and adhering to ISO, CCSDS and ECSS standards. Finally, awareness of meteorological data formats such as NetCdf, HDF and BUFR plus compression algorithms would be a major advantage, and you should combine excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills with fluency in English and a knowledge of French. Ground Stations Engineer to provide Consultancy Support to EPSSG Ground Segment Team MW

Mission As a member of the Ground Segment GS team, the Key Person shall provide support to the EPSSG GS requirements analysis, architecture design and requirement implementation of the GS ground stations as part of the EPSSG System. The duties range from the analysis, design, installation, and testing of the ground stations. This may include support to the procurement of hardware and software, and the coordination with external service providers. The tasks will nominally cover the entire development lifecycle. In particular during the initial phase the tasks will include Support to the generation of ground stations related EPSSG concepts, requirements and design documentation at the Architectural Design Level Identifying and translating the relevant EPSSG usersystemground segment level requirements into specific ground stations system requirements Provide support covering all aspects of the EPSSG ground stations specification and design Provide support covering the link budgets of the EPSSG programme Contribute to the definition of the ground segment data flows regarding the interfaces between the ground stations and the rest of the EPSSG ground segment andor satellites from a system engineering point of view Contribute to the preparation of the EPSSG Validation and Verification VV activities in the area of ground stations and the generation of the initial Acceptance Plan. Profile The Key person shall have a university degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline relevant to the job profile together with the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision. Network support during EPSSG Ground Segment Development

Task Description You will be part of the Communication Systems team in the GSI Division and will work in support to the EPSSG Programme as part of a support Work Package from TSS to the Programme. Carrying out activities covering the networking aspects in the ground segments associated with EPSSG will include performing the following tasks, which will initially focus on the needs of the EPSSG Preparatory Programme but nominally cover the entire development lifecycle Support interfacing and liaising with third parties, e.g. visavis service providers and suppliers, for matters related to the services andor products they supply Specification of an EPSSG ground segment network concept incl. purposescope definition, high level network system architecture and design, highlevel network testing and rollout strategy Specification of EPSSG ground segment network requirements Requirements identification, analysis, validation and maintenance e.g. extraction of required data flows and specification of their characteristic Assist to the definition of EPSSG ground segment network interfaces From the EPSSG ground segment network requirements, specification of derived requirements for the evolution and upgrade of operations network infrastructure and services Establishing the overall EPSSG ground segment network solution, incl. specification of the network integration, verification and testing approach Identification of areas of risk and contribution to related tradeoff studies or prototyping activities Participate in and provide support the EPSSG ground segment reviews, e.g. Requirements Review and Preliminary Design Review Participate in evaluation and comparison of offers for network services and systems, contribute to supplier negotiations Contribute to procurement of the overall EPSSG ground segment in areas related to networking, e.g. requirements specifications and statements of work Participate in EPSSG meetings at system, ground segment and facility level Act as the prime person within the Comms team dealing with networking aspects for the EPSSG programme Work within a matrix structure, reporting to the appointed representatives of the EPSSG programme, as well as to the Comms team leader In the performance of these tasks, the key person shall apply the clients configuration and change control procedures as well as the relevant system engineering standards, quality management procedures and maintenance procedures.
