Only IPTV showed growth, while cable, satellite and DTT lost customers, according to the latest quarterly report from Telecompaper. TV revenues were still up slightly to EUR 464 million in Q2.

Western Europe to add $13 billion in OTT revenues

According to Digital TV Research, Western European OTT TV episode and movie revenues will reach $23.02 billion in 2023; more than double the $9.84 billion recorded in 2017. Revenues are expected to climb by $2.63 billion in 2018 alone.

Dutch mobile service revenues fall 8.2% in Q2, led by Vodafone

(Telecompaper) The Dutch mobile market generated service revenues of EUR 938 million in the second quarter, down 8.2 percent from a year earlier, according to the latest quarterly report from Telecompaper. The decline was similar to the first quarter, hurt by regulation, price pressure and tough competition. Tele2 and KPN gained market share year-on-year, while Vodafone's share declined.

(Telecompaper) The number of fixed internet connections in the Netherlands hit 7.46 million at the end of June, up 0.3 percent from the previous quarter, according to the latest report on the broadband market from Telecompaper. The number of cable and fibre-optic connections increased enough to compensate for the ongoing decline at DSL (copper). Revenues from broadband services advanced by 0.7 percent to EUR 497 million.

(Telecompaper) ZTE reported a net loss of CNY 7.8 billion for the first half of 2018, in line with its earlier warning over the impact of the US ban on imports from the company. The Chinese company said it expects to return to a small profit in the third quarter, of up to CNY 1.0 billion versus CNY 1.6 billion a year ago.
