Qualcomm posts net loss, forecasts fall in next quarter's revenues

(Telecompaper) Qualcomm reported a net loss for its fiscal fourth quarter to September, hurt by the USD 2 billion paid to NXP for not completing their merger. Revenues were down 2 percent year-on-year to USD 5.8 billion, in line with the company's guidance and including partial payment of back licensing fees from one major customer. Qualcomm said underlying earnings were better than forecast and it expects to return to growth in adjusted EPS in the current quarter, despite a projected sharp fall in revenue.
Zain Group revenues up 55% in Q3 on Saudi consolidation

(Telecompaper) Middle East mobile operator Zain Group said its revenues increased by 55 percent to KWD 403 million in the third quarter, and EBITDA reached KWD 155 million, an increase of 48 percent year-on-year, giving a 38 percent EBITDA margin. The growth was supported by Zain Saudi Arabia becoming a consolidated subsidiary during the third quarter. This contributed an additional USD 521 million in revenues and USD 194 million in EBITDA for Q3 2018.

Altice USA revenues rise 4.1%, EBITDA margins hit record levels in Q3

Masmovil service revenues soar 22% in Q3, ups full-year guidance

(Telecompaper) Spanish telecommunications provider Masmovil, the country's fourth largest network operator, reported service revenues of EUR 305 million in the third quarter of 2018, up 22 percent year on year on an organic basis thanks to over 290,000 subscriber additions, with net revenues rising 6 percent to EUR 362 million. Recurring EBITDA for the quarter soared by 38 percent year on year to EUR 85 million, with the EBITDA margin increasing to 23 percent. The company's adjusted net quarterly profit rose 34 percent to EUR 35 million compared to EUR 26 million in Q3 2017.
