Latin America OTT revenues to climb by $4 billion

According to Digital TV Research, revenues from OTT TV episodes and movies for 19 Latin American countries will grow by $4 billion to $6.43 billion in 2023; up from the $2.47 billion recorded in 2017.

Liberty Global grows Q2 revenues 2.7%, OCF 3.3%, driven by UK operations

(Telecompaper) Liberty Global reported second-quarter revenues from continuing operations up 2.7 percent on an organic basis to USD 3.045 billion, as a strong performance at Virgin Media in the UK offset weaker results in Belgium and Switzerland. The figure excludes its German operation Unitymedia and activities in East Europe being sold to Vodafone. Including those operations, revenues rose 3.1 percent, slightly less than Q1.

Snap sees drop in active users in Q2, revenues still up 44%

(Telecompaper) Snap reduced its losses and grew revenues in the second quarter but showed a drop in users of its app Snapchat. Daily active users totaled 188 million in Q2, up 8 percent from a year earlier but 2 percent less than in Q1 this year. Average revenue per user increased 34 percent year-on-year to USD 1.40, and total revenues rose 44 percent to USD 262 million.
3 Group underlying revenues down 2% in H1, EBITDA improves

(Telecompaper) 3 Group reported revenues for the first half of 2018 of HKD 36.12 billion, up 9 percent from a year earlier. In local currencies, revenues fell 2 percent, including a 4 percent fall in service revenue. EBITDA rose 14 percent to HKD 12.8 billion, and was up 3 percent in local currencies, while EBIT of HKD 7.5 billion was little changed, as network investments led to higher depreciation and amortisation.
