Snap users fall again in Q3 while revenues hit new record

(Telecompaper) Snap reduced its losses and grew revenues in the third quarter but showed another drop in users of its app Snapchat, a trend expected to continue in Q4. (Telecompaper) Google parent company Alphabet reported stronger revenues and profit in the third quarter, with the positive momentum helped by mobile search and a lower effective tax rate. Revenues rose to USD 33.74 billion, up 21 percent from the year before and by 22 percent in constant currency terms. The operating profit advanced 25 percent to USD 8.31 billion, though the margin slid to 25 percent from 28 percent. The net profit jumped to USD 9.19 billion from 6.73 billion, with diluted earnings per share going to USD 13.06 from 9.57. The effective tax rate was lower at 9 percent from 16 percent year-on-year.

Orange maintains outlook as revenues up 1% in Q3, EBITDA grows 3%

(Telecompaper) Orange reported strengthening growth rates in the third quarter, despite what the company termed "increasingly intense" competition in its main markets France and Spain. Revenues rose 1.0 percent to EUR 10.3 billion, and adjusted EBITDA was up 3.0 percent to EUR 3.7 billion. Orange said it was on track to achieve its full-year targets and grow further in 2019.

(Telecompaper) America Movil improved EBITDA growth to 7.7 percent in the third quarter, to MXN 71.8 billion, driven by improved margins in Brazil. Revenues rose a slower 2.1 percent to MXN 250 billion. At constant exchange rates, EBITDA increased 13.0 percent year-on-year and revenue was up 3.4 percent.
