The Key person shall divide his time and expertise, according to the workload, between the various programs to support the long term evolution and maintenance of the EUMETSAT Ground Stations. The tasks of the Key person will typically include Investigation and rectification of anomalies reported by the operationsmaintenance team Interface with the maintenance services providers at a technical level Reporting on the performance of the Ground Stations and associated systems together with a status report of any ongoing activities Attendance at the relevant coordination meetings to plan and schedule Ground Station activities ensuring compliance with Operational activities and constraints Provision of Ground Stations support to operations during critical mission phases, pre and post launch i.e. SVT, LEOP, IOT and contingency Maintenance of operational Ground Stations procedures, databases and documentation in accordance with the configuration management and quality assurance practices Provision of technical support during the creation of maintenance agreements and contracts Assist with the preparation or evaluation of proposals for modificationsimprovements to the Ground Stations and associated equipment Planning and scheduling the implementation, testing and validation phases of any modificationsimprovements In performing these tasks, the key person shall apply the EUMETSAT configuration and change control procedures as well as the relevant system engineering standards and quality management procedures. PROFILE In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the Key person shall have a minimum of 5 years experience in the Operations and Maintenance of Large Ground Stations andor Ground Stations EngineeringIntegration used for GEO andor LEO missions. The Key person shall have experience in the following area Ground Station design, integration and testing, particularly in the areas of Antenna, RF, Base Band and Tracking subsystems, including the generation of Requirement definition and ICD specifications Operation and configuration of various types of Baseband equipment including integrated TTC and ranging systems i.e. Cortex type and High Data Rate Modulators and Demodulators Maintenance and Operation of large Ground Stations particularly in Local and Remote MC including databases and automated procedures, redundancy management, Site Infrastructure and liaison with Service providers Analogue and digital modulationdemodulation schemes used on the Ground to Space interface for TTC, Mission data transmission and Data Collection Systems. Execution of Spacecraft interface verification testing, prior to launch in support of the SVT, and post launch in the form of RF IOT as part of Spacecraft Commissioning. In addition, the knowledge and experience of some of the following subjects would be considered as a distinct advantage Implementation of relevant ECSS standards and CCSDS recommendations concerning Space Link Services and Space Link Extension SLE protocols Commercial satellite and micro wave data links Basic knowledge of WAN, LAN and TCPIP protocol In Orbit Test I.O.T. systems deployment. The Key person should be used to working proactively within a small team, being able to work with the minimum of supervision. The variety of the tasks and the scope of the systems to be supported require a high degree of autonomy and good analytical skills. The ability to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, and working calmly and correctly under stress, is essential. The key person shall have good communications skills, to allow the effective communication of information under a variety of circumstances with the operational team. The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the key person must be able to work effectively in this language knowledge of French would be an advantage.

As a member of the Computer Systems Management CSM team, the Key person shall provide support to the development and maintenance of the TCE. The duties range from maintaining and creating software packages that are installed on the TCE over advice and support for programmers working with the TCE to the creation of new software that is needed to support ongoing developments. This also includes the settingup and implementation of best practices for programming and the definition of the future TCE design in close cooperation with the TCE system administrators The Key person shall perform the following tasks Maintenance and development of bespoke and COTS software packages Support of programmers in the area of system programming and interface definition Design and implementation of new software packages that are needed to support ongoing projects and which are providing common services to all users. Contribution to the analysis and planning of HW and SW upgrades or reconfigurations, taking care of compatibility issues between subsystems Provision of secondlevel support to the users of the system Database Programming Support to SW development and maintenance in relation to the utilization of system resources Provision of standbyoncall support if needed under special circumstances Provision of support, as required, to critical operations. The contractor will be assigned to the System Modelling andFunctional Verification Section of the Software Systems Division and provide on demand expertise in activities related to space system database software production. This includes following tasks and responsibilities Providing technical support to projects on specific issues related to space system database software development including software problem solving, exchange and interfaces with external systems, project reviews. Support for the Space System Database reference facility using in conjunction with the EGSE reference facility, including isolating and fixing software problems.
