The job includes the design, analysis and test support activities associated with the development of an AOCS GNC system for space applications. The key responsibilities of the role are as follows The department provides the AOCS GNC engineering analysis and support to a number of large ESA projects and technology studies. Recent missions include Aeolus global observations of wind profiles, LISA Pathfinder paving the way for the LISA mission to detect gravitational waves, Gaia making the largest, most precise map of our own Galaxy to date and ExoMars Rover a mission to land and operate an autonomous rover vehicle on Mars. The department is also involved in technology development studies, focussed on GNC technologies for the next generation of missions. Key activities include technical analysis using Matlab and AOCS Algorithm development. The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience Essential Degree or equivalent in a numerate discipline Space industry experience including AOCS GNC Matlab and Simulink experience Familiarity with cost control processes, ideally with study management experience General computer literacy, including MS Office.
