Based on the Isle of Man, the Senior Engineer, Ground Systems Radio Frequency and Tracking, Telemetry Control will implement and provide operational support for ground stations and systemsprocesses which are used to enable SES spacecraft deploymentoperations as well as to deliver services to SES customers. The incumbent will design, analyze, specify, implement and enhance SES TTC and Teleport Communication Systems that SES requires in order to fulfill its multiple satellite missions. This position will also require the incumbent to successfully deploy Spacecraft Operation Control SOC infrastructures and associated baseband systems, the ranging and inorbit systems as well as the fixed and mobile teleport infrastructures for payload signal uplinks or related IFRF measurement systems. The candidate will lead andor support the above tasks for SES SL ground stations as well as internationally, for other SES entities located abroad. Responsibilities Perform project management activities of the ground systems and SOC, including collectiondefinition of the requirements, tracking the schedule and budget, leading procurement activities and performing the associated oversight with selected vendors, providing 2nd3rd level operational support including 1st level support for the Isle of Man Teleport and other teleports as required by other SES entities The 2nd and 3rd level tasks include To develop, lead andor perform the Annual Preventative Maintenance Schedule electro mechanical and RF for the Isle of Man Ground System To report all maintenance and corrective tasks using the relevant modules in the SAP system To organize, maintain and keep the site spare stock operational and at a sufficient level all the time To manage the site test equipment pool for completeness, functionality and calibration To perform a yearly inventorylocation check of all installed and warehouse assets To deploy occasionally to other SES or third party Teleports globally for system troubleshooting, corrective maintenance tasks andor tasks as described above Implement contract auditing and supporting GISTP or third party Teleport Contracts for the Isle of Man satellites as part of standard operating procedures Deliver clear, concise, timely and constructive strategic or technical guidance and cooperative support to peerscustomers in and outside the company as an established expert in the ground engineering field and act as a trusted representative of the company Experience Qualifications University Degree BSMS in ElectricalTelecommunications Engineering or equivalent Minimum of five 5 years relevant engineering experience in a similar role Experience as a Systems Engineer andor Project Manager Project and time management skills Have and show sound analytical skills, an innovative mind, coordination and priority setting skills Critical tasktactical related decision making and vendor relation skills Ability to provide practical conclusions Good knowledge of electrical power systems, cooling systems, and civilstructural engineering Knowledge on terrestrial networking elements IP Permanent position based DouglasIsle of Man Flexibility towards working times and to travel up to 50 of the time Fluency in English although other languages are an advantage Ability to obtain security clearance Our Offer Competitive salary package, coupled with a diverse array of challenges and development benefits. Tasks Thermal design of space instruments within boundaries of thermal environment, mass, volume and power constraints in a vacuum environment. Active participation to all design phases including concept definition and elaboration, environment definition, thermal models generation, thermal analysis, detailed design, component selection, follow up with suppliers, testing. Supervision of a small team of engineers. Reporting to the Project Systems Engineer. Participate to the generation formal review technical data packages. Qualifications Recognized Mechanical Engineering degree Demonstrated 10 years experience performing thermal analysis and thermal design for optical space instruments. Knowledge Space project experience, preferably with ESA. Experience with space optical instrument system development life cycle, phases, reviews and deliverables. Knowledge of Space Engineering ECSS standards. Knowledge of ESATANTMS and other thermal SW packages is a must. Skills Good English skills. Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills and be confident to deal with a wide variety of people. Able to perform effectively under high workloads and be able to adapt to a rapidlychanging timecritical environment.
