Spacecraft Operations Engineer Power Thermal

We are currently looking for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer Power Thermal to support our customer in Germany. Spacecraft Operations Engineer Power Thermal Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the ExoMars Flight Control Team FCT, you will have the following responsibilities Support the Power and Thermal subsystems platform and act as back up of at least one spacecraftground subsystems AOCS, Data Handling, TTC, Payload instrument, Mission Control System, Simulator or Mission Planning Preparation, validation and maintenance of the Mission Planning System, the ExoMars mission planning rules and constraints Define the interface between MPS and other ground segment facilities Write and maintain operational procedures and reports Actively participate in the relevant technical meetings and teleconferences. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent Experience in spacecraft platform subsystems and operations i.e. OBDH, PowerThermal, propulsion system, instruments Operational experience with interdisciplinary missions Understanding of Flight Control Team tasks and responsibilities pre and postlaunch Ability to coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields Handson experience with ground systems and facilities required to support spacecraft operations is desirable Operational experience with Power and Thermal subsystems would be an advantage Previous experience with mission planning processes is advantageous Fluency in English is mandatory. ExoMars Spacecraft Operations Engineer TTC, Communications and Data Relay

This is a regular opportunity for experienced Engineers to work in the domain of satellite operations operations preparations in our premises in Darmstadt. This position is part of a Spacecraft Operations Engineering service to be provided to the Solar and Planetary Missions Division, with initial assignment to the ExoMars mission. This is a permanent position to work 100 on customer side in ESOC. The position should start 1st of January 2015 and the submission deadline for applicants will be the 8st of September 2014 RESPONSIBILITIESDUTIES Initially, the main areas of responsibility for this service are platform subsystems TTC, communications and Data Relay preparation, validation and maintenance of the internal and external interfaces for Mars data relay operations. The service provider may be requested to assume the responsibility and perform activities for additional subsystems or systems within the scope of general SOE services. QUALIFICATIONSEXPERIENCE A degree qualified engineer with experience in Spacecraft Operations to join the existing Telespazio VEGA operations team at ESOC. ESSENTIAL SKILLS Previous experience in spacecraft platform subsystem operations Operational experience with interplanetary missions Understanding of Flight Control Team tasks and responsibilities pre and postlaunch Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Ability to coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields. Ability to work independently with little or no supervision. DESIRABLE SKILLS Strong educational background in engineering or science Handson experience with ground systems and facilities required to support spacecraft operations Familiarity with the ESOC environment Operational experience with TTC subsystems, data relay indirect operations concepts Previous experience with mission planning processes The ability to multitask efficiently working on multiple activities, multiple subsystems and if applicable multiple missions simultaneously.
