EPSSG System Interfaces Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European organisation providing weather and climaterelated satellite data, images and products for its users. In this role you will be responsible for Verifying that all the major internal inter segment and external system interfaces are identified and sufficiently covered in system requirements and system model Investigating the best way to exploit the system model held in CORE tool from Vitech for interface definition Coordinating and defining technical interfaces with the external partners and service providers Organising meetings and workshops with external and internal interface partners Generating and maintaining the Interface Requirement Documents IRDs and system Interface Control Documents ICD Identifying the mechanisms to be used for detailed ICD definition Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in engineering, science, or equivalent Architectural engineering of space andor ground system Large space systems design and implementation space andor ground segment Interface management and definition and familiarity with mechanisms and tools for detailed interface definition Demonstrated capability to prepare and manage IRD and ICD Experience in the area of LowEarth Orbiting satellites LEO as well as experience with CORE design tool and DOORs would be an asset Excellent organisational and communication skills both written and verbal Fluency in English is mandatory, knowledge of another European language is an advantage. This is an opportunity for an experienced Engineer to support our customer in establishing and maintaining system design justifications, system design, tradeoffs, and system budgets for the EPSSG Satellite program Responsibilities Duties The activities for this position will focus on the establishing and maintaining system design justifications, system design, tradeoffs, and system budgets. Specific separate Instrument Functional Chain Teams IFCT are being established to ensure that each instrument chain is addressed in an endtoend fashion for Radiometric, Spectral and Geolocation aspects. The primary focus of this Engineer will be on system aspects not covered by the IFCT however participation in and support to the IFCTs is foreseen. The tasks and responsibilities of the Engineer to be undertaken during the EPSSG Phase B will typically include the following Analysis and justification of the system design Provide input to the system design justification document, especially concerning end to end performance aspects Identify all system areas that require a budget to be maintained Perform an apportionment between Space and Ground segments and any other element involved Control and document all technical budgets in accordance with ECSS standards Monitor lower level technical specifications and budgets for compliance to system apportionment Provide support to the IFCT and when needed ensure IFCT results are documented in a systematic manner Provide support to general system engineering activities Preparation and maintenance of system technical specification Ad hoc internal reviews System level formal reviews SRR, PDR Provide support to progress meetings Qualifications Experience University degree in the domain of engineering, science, or equivalent.
