Design System Engineer Digital Electronics Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European leading system house, specialised in development and implementation of high technology solutions for space. Your responsibilities will incude Derivation of data handling subsystem requirements from satellite mission requirements Trade off analysis of critical dimensioning parameters and justification of choices Preparation of subsystem and equipment specifications Requirements and architecture analysis at electronic function and board level Analysis of compatibility of electrical interfaces between the different subsystem equipments, sensors, actuators, etc. EMC analysis at system and subsystem level Requirements specification for subcontracting of subsystems, equipment, electronic modules, electrical ground support equipment, on board software, etc. Definition of verification strategy for subsystems and equipment Definition of test equipment architecture Design of digital systems controller, FPGAs VHDL, state machines etc. Engineering and design documentation Preparation of technical proposals answering customer specifications Definition of engineering resources and planning for design and development. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in Electronic Engineering Several years of experience in electronics design and engineering, ideally o Microprocessor, FPGAs, ASICs, VHDL especially for image processing o Simulation tools Matlab, Modelsim etc. o Control technique o SpecificationsRequirements Engineering and System Analyses o Digital and analogue electronics for camera systems System engineering for electrical subsystems of satellite platforms instruments EEE components selection Requirements engineering, derivation of subsystems and equipments needs and establishment of development specifications for system major constituents Interfaces engineering and analysis Data Handling Systems for space programs on board computers, communication busses, mass memory, space qualified microprocessors, etc. Fluency in English German is considered an asset. System Engineer

For the development, integration, verification and testing of the two PROBA3 spacecraft SC as well as for the AITAIV phase of the overall System. Integrated in the PROBA3 System team, will assume System Engineering responsibilities of the two SC at PROBA3 System level and of the System AITAIV phase in close cooperation with the responsible of those areas in the project. Will provide support and collaborate with the other side of the System Engineering, dedicated to Formation Flying and OBSW. The design, development, AITAIV, and delivery of the SC will be the responsibility of two different companies working as subcontractors to the client. The activity at System level will focus in ensuring that the overall System design, the subsequent specifications of the SC, the System and SC verification, and the results to be obtained from the SC subcontractors meet the mission objectives and specification. Strong support to the development and maintenance of the detailed System level plans, in relation with the development and delivery of the different System components, with special attention in the SC and SC subsystems development interactions. Critical assessment of feasibility of the SC subcontractors project plans, in relation with the rest of System elements. Main contribution to the review and iteration of the SC Specification and the lower level specifications being produced and iterated during the phase CD. Requirements management at System level. Applicants for this post must have University degree M.Sc. or higher in Engineering or equivalent qualification Solid experience in one of the fields relevant to the task described preferably Avionics and sufficient knowledge of the remaining fields to perform hisher duties supported by technical experts. Applicable experience in a complete systemspacecraft in phase CD is required, with dedication in the integration, verification and testing of spacecraft. Full knowledge of English as working language is assumed. Knowledge of Spanish would be an advantage. It will be positively evaluated that the previous mentioned experiences were obtained in science, space exploration or similar technology projects of ESA.

We require staff, wishing to join our team to work in a dynamic international environment for the following position Payload System Engineer ENGSERVELIPSXPL001 Tasks and Responsibilities ESAs Payloads and Platforms Division HSOUP, within the ISS Utilisation and Astronaut Support Department, and the ISS Resources and Utilisation Infrastructure Division HSOIF, within the ISS Exploitation and Exploration Department, have the responsibility for the full development activities for all ISS research payloads, as well as the evolution of existing ISS payloads and supports the subsequent operational phase of those ISS payloads. The current position is to join the system engineering team to support the Atomic Clock Ensemble in Space ACES and AtmosphereSpace Interaction Monitor ASIM payloads, two research payloads under development for the external platform of the Columbus lab. Our company is responsible for supporting ESA in System Engineering for these payloads. The work will be performed in our offices in Noordwijk, The Netherlands, close to ESTEC. The position will include the following tasks and responsibilities Providing system engineering support to ESAs technical officers for the development activities and verification of the subject payloads. Supporting the technical officer in defining and implementing the functional requirements. Qualifications and Experience Applicants should have a University degree in an engineering discipline or in physics. Candidates are required to have following skills Knowledge of the ISS environment for scientific payloads. Knowledge of ISS boundary conditions and product assurance and safety procedures. Preferably 5 or more years experience in the science payload space flight domain and at the least one of the following field electrical electronic thermal software engineering. Knowledge of the requirements definition and verification process for scientific payloads. Management of external hardware software interfaces for payloads definition, control, verification. Experience in managing payload development projects and in defining requirements linked to the individual phases of the project. Experience in organisation of technical reviews for development projects. Experience in interfacing with industry, academia and national and international organisations, would be an advantage.
