The objectives of LuxGovSat are the acquisition, the launch and the operation of a satellite for the provision of governmental and defense communication services. The new satellite, GovSat1, will bring new capacity in governmental frequency bands and feature security capabilities with steerable highpowered spot beams. In a unique PublicPrivate Venture, it will ensure the security, reliability and flexibility for the everchanging missions of governments and institutions in the security, defense and civil areas. The launch of the satellite is scheduled for the second quarter of 2017. The spacecraft will be positioned at the orbital position 21.5 degrees East and will cover Europe, the Middle East and Africa. GovSat1 will help Luxembourg to meet its obligations in European and NATO defense and will address the requirements of other governments and institutions, in particular the EU NATO member states and agencies. For more information visit www.govsat.lu The Project Manager of LuxGovSat is responsible for the successful closure, implementation and Project Management tasks during the operational phase of larger projects andor programs. SheHe is also responsible for selecting people and managing project teams of LuxGovSat internal people andor external contractors. On a daytoday basis, shehe will mainly but not exclusively collaborate with the SES technical entities and personnel. Based at the LuxGovSat headquarter in Betzdorf, the position supports the project management task for LuxGovSat. The Manager, Satellite Planning, performs technical planning and optimization of the assigned SES satellites.
