RHEA is currently recruiting a Project Control Support to support the HSO domain at our clients premises in Cologne, Germany. Tasks and Activities Your primary tasks and activities may include Supporting the Head of the Department as well as the Head of the ISS Utilisation and Astronaut Support Department in all financial activities. For example o Controlling of assigned contracts with respect to financial commitments, cost, schedule, progress, invoicing, industrial return, deviation from plans and trends o Provision of inputs to budgets, reports and forecasts o Risk management function through the identification of potential problem areas, analysis of their impact and proposal of remedial actions o Collect, enter, process, and update all financial, schedule and georeturn related data in the databases Support the Head of Department on setting up and follow up of third party agreements with industry or specific agreements with national space agencies, in coordination with Legal Affairs Support the Head of Department in the daily administration of the centre and the liaison offices in Houston and Moscow Support Managers and Technical Officers in using ESA corporate financial systems Acting as an interface for the ESA financial representative, purchase office and mission desk. The objective is to provide followup for the processing of the Department related invoices and control of timely payment to ESA contractors and suppliers, and to perform the process of issuing purchase orders as well as to monitor the mission desk operations. In addition to this, the contractor shall support the regular verification of Manpower and Cost Reports Skills and Experience You must possess the following skills and experience At least 4 years previous relevant work experience in the field Knowledge of project accounting Fluent in English and knowledge of German knowledge of another member state language is an asset Excellent Communication and Negotiation Skills Good interpersonal skills and crosscultural sensitivity Highly proficient in MS office software, SAP experience highly appreciated Good organisation skills Flexibility and ability to cope with pressure Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the outside world For one of the positions very good knowledge of IPCDB, ESA rules cost control and ESA corporate financial systems is also required. The AIP is seeking a qualified Project Control Expert fm for the 4MOST astronomy instrumentation project. Overview The 4MOST instrument is built by an international consortium and is foreseen to be installed at the VISTA Telescope at the ESO Observatory Paranal in Chile. The 4MOST Project Control Expert PCE is part of the4MOST Project Management Team and reports to the Project Manager. Shehe is responsible for system level Project Control Management. Tasks and responsibilities Produce comprehensive schedules in various formats and detail to suit different users or consortium and stakeholders Interface the schedule with the project budget Analyse validity of schedules submitted by the consortium members contributing to the project Monitor actual job progress, compare to baseline and report progress against schedule Analyse and report productivity and trends Forecast the impacts on schedule of proposed changes Recommend policy or procedural revisions that will improve schedule accomplishment Attend management, project team and customer meetings as requested by the project manager Assist project management, local project managers at the various consortium members institutes and colleagues to understand and accept scheduling concepts, theory and alternative approaches in scheduling project activities Archive actual schedule achievements for estimating future similar projects Ad hoc duties Required qualification Degree in Management, Engineering or equivalent, in engineering or technical sciences Good understanding on development processes in scientific environment.
