Overview The postholder will report to the Head of the Copernicus Space Segment Office and will work in close liaison with the Sentinel project teams and the CSC Space Segment Project Control Section. The Space Segment Office acts as a single point of contact between the CSC Space Segment ESTEC and the Copernicus Space Office ESRIN for all matters related to the implementation and progress of the EUESA Copernicus Agreement. The postholder will be responsible to support the coordination of all activities within the remit of the Copernicus Space Segment Programme and in coordination with and via the GMES Space Office EOPE related to the interface with the European Commission. In particular the postholder will be responsible for Monitoring the implementation and progress of the Sentinel projects, as compared and defined in the annual work programme Supporting the coordination of all technical, schedule and risk reporting, related to the development and procurement of the Sentinel satellites and instruments, towards the European Commission in relation to the obligations in the EUESA Copernicus Agreement and ESA member states, in liaison with the Sentinels project teams and the Copernicus project control section Developing and maintaining the reporting procedure for the Copernicus Space Segment, comprising the development and procurement programme of the Sentinel satellites and instruments Maintaining relevant databases, supporting development of specific tools and infrastructure, as necessary Maintaining the top level schedule of the Copernicus space segment programme in close liaison with the Sentinel projects Supporting the establishment of the annual work programme, the multiannual implementation plan and procurement plans, as well their updates Supporting the organization of reviews in conjunction with procurements e.g. tender evaluation review as well as programme and project reviews e.g. Qualification and Acceptance Review, Flight Acceptance Review, as necessary Supporting internal and external Copernicus space segment meetings and audits, as necessary. Assist the Head of the CSC Space Segment Office in the cooperation with the ESA Security Office and relevant bodies for Space Segment Security, as necessary. Specific qualification requirements University degree in Engineering or equivalent qualification A minimum of 4 years relevant professional experience post Degree Proficient in the English language Spoken and Written Good communication and technical writing skills Ability to work in a team and independently Problemsolving oriented attitude Knowledge of EU policiesinstitutions andor managerial experience gained within the public sector would be advantageous. Legal and Security Requirements All applicants must be legally allowed to work in The Netherlands Applicants are required to provide a copy of their passport and degree certificate. Aurora will validate the Degree with the issuing University and provide evidence to ESA. Prior to issuing a letter of employment the applicant shall provide to Aurora a recent official document declaring that they are of good conduct from the country where currently resident. Location The work will be performed at the European Space Technology and Research Centre ESTEC at Noordwijk, The Netherlands. Contract The selected candidate will receive good remuneration. Will be registered for both social security and tax in the Netherlands. The standard working hours are 40 per week. There are 12 public holidays and an additional 30 annual days holiday. A Spanish leader company in Aerospace Engineering and Scientific services with more than 45 years of experience working for NASA and 35 years working for ESA seeks a candidate for a Project Coordinator. the following tasks and requirements are applicable Specific Tasks Reporting to the Head of STEM Education and Outreach Unit of the ESA Education and Knowledge Management Office, coordinate the European Space Education Resource Office ESERO network for the primary and secondary education communities in ESAs Member States, both from the project coordination and scientific education points of view. Tasks include o Ensuring the proper transfer of ESA technical and scientific knowhow, properly filtered for educational purposes, to the ESERO network to this end, liaise with ESA scientific and technical experts for fact and information finding o Monitoring the opportunities and themes arising from the activities of ESAs space programmes to facilitate, when appropriate and in line with ESAs programmatic priorities, their incorporation into the ESERO activities o Monitoring, advising, and providing feedback to the ESERO network on the relevance and suitability of ESERO deliverables from the point of view of their scientifictechnical accuracy facilitating the ESERO access to ESA experts when required o Coordinating and monitoring the correct implementation of all ESERO contracts in particular acting as the main contact point for the ESERO Project Managers, followingup on deliverables, reporting and invoicing o Organising regular progress meetings with each ESERO Office and related stakeholdersnational partners, as well as annual workshops with all ESERO managers o Coordinating the enlargement and evolution of the ESERO network to other Member States in particular supporting dialogue and discussions with national stakeholders, proposals evaluation, contract negotiations and setup phase o Maintaining a thorough level of knowledge about all ESERO activities, including awarenessraising, teacher training and classroom support activities in particular participating in events and training courses around Europe o In accordance with the demand and opportunities identified by the ESEROs, proposing ways to make ESA content accessible to education providers, in such a way that it can be adapted by them into their own particular delivery mechanisms o Coordinating the evaluation of ESERO activities against Key Performance Indicators o Ensuring the promotion of ESERO activities through appropriate outreach channels and the compliance of ESERO activities with outreach guidelines o Responding to the direct contacts and requests from education stakeholders in ESA Member States. Requirements o As per job class, with a university Master degree, or equivalent, in a STEM discipline Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, experience in the space and education fields, and specific experience in project coordination o Experience in international environments, project management, active STEM teaching and communication o Capability of establishing and maintaining high level interfaces within and outside the Agency o Autonomy in the execution of tasks and ability to manage hisher workload, identifying priorities and strategic actions ability to cope with pressure, meet deadlines and deliver on time o Fluent in English knowledge of another Member State language is an asset o Good communication skills, verbal in public and during formal meetings and written ability to work in a team.
