Information Management Consultancy Support in GEO and LEO Programmes

For our activities in Germany, we are looking for a person to provide Information Management Consultancy Support in GEO and LEO Programmes. TASKS Manage programme documentation according to existing working practices andprocedures Contribute to a registry of information items used in the development programmes Contribute to establishing an internal metadata reference for the classification of information items generated in programmes Support updating of InformationDocumentation Management Plans, procedures, and working practices Define and regularly provide IM Metrics and Key Performance Indicators Report on issues in using IM Tools and possible improvements, proposing related requirements and supporting their verification REQUIREMENTS University degree or equivalent in InformationKnowledge Management, or other relevant fields Minimum three years of experience in a technical, archivist, or librarian role Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles Practical experience in management of technical information and documentation, preferably in an IT or engineering sector, in support to a large set of users Proven experience in draftingreviewing documentationinformation management plans, working practices and procedures Proven experience in applying information, documentation or configuration management processes Proven experience in the use of tools for electronic documentation, information or configuration management, electronic workflow implementing document management processes Proficient knowledge of use of MSOffice, MSAccess, Acrobat and scanning methodology, including experience in managing complex documents structure, related templates, layout and formatting Very good personal communication skills oral and written to be able to effectively interact with users, team members and other teams Highly self motivated with a high level of autonomy in working arrangements and the ability to apply initiative and creativity in the execution of tasks Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills, willingness to learn, able to work as part of a team and displaying a strong customeroriented approach to interact with EUMETSAT personnel. Experience in using relational databases SQL will be an advantage, as well as experience in managing information generated using engineering tools e.g., design tools, requirements management tools, etc.. Work experience in Aerospace Industry will be also an advantage. The working language of the position is English, together with good communication skills. Copernicus Operations Documentation Management Configuration Management DM CM Engineer

For one of our main customers, EUMETSAT, we are currently looking for a Copernicus Operations Documentation Management Configuration Management DM CM Engineer to perform Documentation and Configuration Management tasks in support to the Copernicus Programme and Service Management Office and to the Copernicusrelated missions, at first Sentinel3 and Jason3 operations and progressively Sentinel4, SentinelS and JasonCSSentinel6 rampup operations activities. Tasks and responsibilities Implement the applicable Documentation and Configuration Management plans, processes and working practices. Regularly review and propose improvements on those documents Deliver support to a wide range of users and training sessions on applicable Documentation and Configuration Management procedures Ensure that all incoming and outgoing Copernicus documentation is managed according to applicable working practices, covering all registration, formatting, review, approval and storing steps with the EUMETSAT Documentation Management tool, and timely releasingdistribution to relevant recipients Support the identification of the configuration items software, hardware and documents to be managed during Copernicus operations Sentinel3 and Jason3 at the moment and buildup operations activities for Sentinel4, 5, 6. Register those documents and items in the CM and DM databases as appropriate, tracking any new version As required support the administration of the Anomaly and Change Control Boards regularly organised to review and approve anomaly correction and changes to configuration baselines, covering all Copernicus associated operations and rampup operations activities Liaise, coordinate and organise with external partners joint configuration boards when and where relevant Support the control all changes impacting identified configuration items through all defined staged lifecycle steps, in particular ensure that any new item version is deployed only after the formal review and approval of the related change Support the monitoring and control of hardware and software installation activities, and the deployment of satellite, system or ground segments operational documentation procedures into the relevant controlled areas, as required during operations and rampup operations activities Keep up to date the mapping between changes including anomalies and software, hardware and document items, together with the mapping between software and hardware items Contribute to the improvements of the EUMETSAT CM and DM tools, ensuring they efficiently support all required Copernicus operations and rampup operations phases, and participate to the testing of related new releases Regularly perform consistency and accuracy checks on the Documentation and Configuration Management databases Timely prepare and present Configuration Status Accounting Reports and documentation reports, as necessary The tasks of the key person shall be carried out at EUMETSAT facilities in Darmstadt. Experience and education The consultant shall have the following background and skills University degree in Computer Science A minimum of five years of experience in the specific field of Documentation and Configuration Management, including build, deployment and installation activities on large software intensive highavailability operational systems. The following skills and experiences are required Documentation and Configuration Management standards e.g. CMMI, ISO or ECSS Documentation Management tools as basic administration or advanced user e.g. Oracle UCM Configuration Management tools as basic administration or advanced user e.g. Serena Dimensions or Clearcase Use of SQL queries And more generally with systemsoftware development processes and methodologies. Practical experience with the following will be considered an asset scripting languages e.g. vb.net source code control tools CVS, Subversion ... and software development environments on UNIX The key person shall also have demonstrated excellent communication and team working skills Be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, in particular when applying the applicable Documentation and Configuration Management standards and providing support to a wide range of users Be able to work calmly under stress with the minimum of supervision. In support to the Copernicus Programme and Service Management Office in the Operations and Services to Users Department, the consultant will report to the Operational systems Configuration Management Team Leader within the EUMETSAT Process Assurance Management Support PRS Division, and regularly liaise with the Information Management Officer for all Documentation Management aspects. Formal reporting is required at monthly intervals or in the event of a major task completion. The monthly reports and any other reports or technical documentation generated shall be submitted in writing directly to the EUMETSAT Operational systems Configuration Management Team Leader.
