The successful candidate will join the Instrument AIT team TSPEF632. Within the AIT team for an instrument and in collaboration with the projects mechanical engineers and AIT managers, within the Mechanical Engineering AIT team, you will perform engineering, process planning, integration and opticalmechanical validation activities for a subassembly and for an instrument. In this context, you will be in charge of the following activities Steering mechanical engineering, opticalmechanical and mechanism activities In collaboration with the project architects, the AIT optical engineer and the Design Office, performing the engineering tasks for assembly sequences and measurements and providing AIT support for the instruments engineering, Engineering mechanical tools for assembly and alignment MGSE, Preparing procedures and mechanical operations, Developing and following up on the manufacturing, process planning and functional validation of the MGSE, Preparing the subassemblies bonding or assembly of DFMs, thermal engineering and various supports, Using precision measurement tools theodolites, laser trackers, 3D measurement machines, Taking part in installing optics in their mechanical assembly, Taking part in postintegration optical measurements, Taking part in installing mechanical equipment, routing wiring and installing parts for thermal protection, Providing optics operators with mechanical engineering support, Preparing the transportation, Taking part in mechanical and thermal qualification tests that could take place in testing centre such as INTESPACE, CSL, IABG, etc. This position will require occasional travel for business at least one week once a year in Europe, and as such, you must be able to travel accordingly. A vacancy for a Project Product Assurance Engineer Mechanical Platform MPF has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Stevenage. We are looking for an experienced engineer willing to learn and grow within the Product or Quality Assurance environment. You will ensure that each MPF product delivered for each application project is fit for purpose and that the level of compliance to internal and external requirements is known, justified and agreed with the Satellite PA Manager. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Degree in Engineering Aerospace Engineering with a background in Mechanical, Thermal, Systems, RF, Manufacturing or Composites within the Aerospace industry. Knowledge and or experience working in the Product or Quality Assurance environment. Knowledge of processes, procedures, methods, nonconformance, root cause analysis. The Mechanical Project Engineer MPE also sometimes called Responsible Mechanical Engineer is a projectspecific role. The MPE works in close cooperation with the Antenna Project Manager and the Project RF Radio Frequency engineer, to coordinate the overall design process of an antenna product or project. The MPE is responsible for coordinating the activities of the mechanical design subteam, to ensure that the product meets the customer specification, whilst also ensuring that the design definition is transferred into manufacture in time to meet the overall project schedule. The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. The role is a broad based technical engineering role which includes generating design concepts, liaison with specialist engineers within the team, performing technical tradeoffs, and leading the decision making processes.
