Oculus VR headset to work with Xbox One controller

(Telecompaper) Facebook-owned VR company Oculus VR announced at an event in San Francisco that its Oculus Rift VR headset will be bundled with Microsoft's Xbox One controller when it will be launched in Q1 2016. Oculus Touch, the prototype for the tracked controllers, was also presented. Oculus Touch is a pair of tracked controllers that deliver hand presence, namely the sensation of feeling, as though end-users' virtual hands are actually their own. As part of a partnership with Microsoft, Oculus Rift will work natively with Windows 10. Made-for-VR games will leverage DirectX 12 to unleash the full capabilities of new Windows 10 graphics hardware for top performance and the fastest frame rates. Among the Xbox One games that will be available when the Rift VR will hit the store shelves are Halo, Forza, Sunset Overdrive.

Earlier today, Oculus held a press conference in advance of next week's massive E3 gaming event. This awkward one-hour stage show was spent discussing the minute details that differentiate the final hardware from the prototypes. More interesting is that Oculus has decided to partner with Microsoft.

In particular, the Senior Spacecraft Controller will need to react to emergencies within approved guidelines and escalate appropriately when needed. The incumbent will also be following regular training sessions and assessment. To ensure 24 hour coverage of the position, the controller will be required to work shifts. Responsibilities Perform daily operations of spacecraft in accordance with approved procedures and the daily operations plan Command the spacecraft and monitoring satellite health Perform routine operations telemetry dumps, AOSLOS from the different ground stations, upload payload daily mission, eclipses, table uploads, etc. React to emergencies within approved guidelines and notify appropriate staff based on escalation procedure Perform offline data analysis Attend regular refresher training sessions in order to maintain a certification level required to perform functions via regular assessment Rehearse on the simulator established nominal and contingency procedures Interface with the Network Operation Center.
