We are currently looking for a Senior Satellite Controller to support our customer in the United Kingdom. Senior Satellite Controller Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a world leader in satellite data communications. It pioneered the use of high throughput satellites at the Kaband frequencies. Major organisations are now using its networks for cellular backhaul, IP trunking, complex government and enterprise networks and video services, as well as broadband. Experienced satellite controllers are sought to carry out satellite control activities, share their knowledge and expertise, and be an active part of the Avanti operations team. As a senior member of the Satellite Control team, you will help to ensure an efficient and effective team environment. Your tasks will include but not be limited to Carry out satellite monitoring control activities Generate periodic reports on spacecraft health and status Perform routine control system maintenance and backup tasks Provide first line response to satellite contingency and escalation to the satellite engineering team Provide support for operations preparation and development during occasional periods of day shifts Attend and support the Anomaly Review Board process as required by the Satellite Control Manager Implement updates to the satellite control databases Validate procedure and database updates Assist in the development of satellite control team procedures and processes Participate in system verification tests and simulations campaigns in support of new satellite procurement Assist in the training and development of new colleagues Suggest future improvements to satellite operations based on experience in role Support new satellite procurement as required by the Satellite Control Manager Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience A university degree or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline Several years of professional experience in satellite control or engineering Good knowledge of satellite subsystems Knowledge of standard office software products Experience in the use of SCOS2000 or a derivative satellite control system is considered an asset Fluency in English is mandatory. Proactive workload andor workforce controlling, analysis and reporting. Interfacing with counterparts in other Directorates, such as programmeproject controllers, as well as within DTEC. Interfacing with Directorates line management in support of workloadworkforce issues. Facilitating the negotiations between the competency provider units and the corresponding counterparts in other Directorates. Analysis CentreRate evolution controlling. Proactively contributing to the definition, implementation and improvement of management support processes, methods and tools. Specific Competence Requirements Candidates should possess excellent analytical and reporting skills with the ability to manage large and complex data sets. In charge of YGTs and RF processes of the Directorate. Coordinator of all GSP request of TEC Support, in liaison with ESA Programs , ensuring that support provided and recharges operations are implemented in line with GSP requirements. Definition, in close coordination with Workload and Workforce Officer, of the processes in support to workloadworkforce management, coordination of the identification and consolidation of related DTEC level requirements, ensuring availability of appropriate documentation, followingup development of tools and coordinating BU level validation and acceptance thereof. Representing Workload and Workforce Officer in case of absences. To successfully perform the above mentioned tasks, the following background experience is required Masters in Engineering or equivalent or MBA or equivalent University degree from a recognised Institution of secondary studies or equivalent qualification in Business Administration, with at least 4 years of relevant experience. Qualification andor experience in accounting andor financial controlling is an asset.
