Sony's PlayStation 4 is continuing to break sales records, passing 7 million units sold as of April 6. Meanwhile, in the Xbox One camp, Microsoft has remained ominously silent, failing to release sales figures since the end of 2013. Presumably, Microsoft was waiting to see if the release of Titanfall would give the Xbox One a healthy bump in sales -- but now, a month later, we have to wonder why Microsoft is still mute on the matter. Are Xbox One sales truly that embarrassing? And if so, can we expect a dramatic price drop or the release of an Xbox One bundle without Kinect?

Virtual reality just went mainstream. After the Oculus Rift prototype blew the doors off in 2012, it was only a matter of time until larger companies moved in on the concept of modern VR gaming. Sony just unveiled its plans to release a VR headset for the PS4, and this just might be the Oculus Rift's first real competition.
