For our activities in ESOC, we are currently looking for a temporary Support Technician to provide field support to a permanent user community of around 800 users for a duration of 6 months. The support to be provided will be very varied and will include support for Windows operating systems currently Windows 7 Microsoft Office Lotus Notes MAC and IOS Mobile and smart phones IP and TDM telephones PABX interfacing Helpdesk support Network printer support Third party liaison 1st line networking Video conferencing. Tasks and Responsibilities The key person will cover the following tasks Manning a local helpdesk of a rotational basis with first line call resolution Second level calls resolution in the field Video conference systems installation, upgrade, configuration and problem handling Explaining to users available services and how these should be requested Evaluating user requests and problems, raising tickets for each one Solving as many problems as possible Inventory and asset management Liaising with the central IT service desk CSD in Rome Evaluating tickets coming from the CSD and allocating them to the correct teams, both on and off site Planning PC and other equipment installation, including planned refreshes Assuming ownership of all tickets, continually monitoring these tickets and following them up as required to ensure SLAs are being met. Requirements The successful candidate will have had 2 to 3 years in a similar environment and have had experience with Windows 7 MS Office products and their usage Lotus Notes Apple MACs Mobile and IP telephony Video conferencing systems Asset management tools Problem logging database BMC Remedy ideally. In addition, candidates should have good customer interfacing skills and the ability to identify priority situations and deal with them accordingly. As well as being a prerequisite for the fluctuating technical environment, flexibility is also required for covering the helpdesk on a rotational basis, covering the extended day, covering the small site in Cologne and for the occasional operational support for satellite activity. You will perform mechanical integration harness wiring and performance testing of satellite payloads. The successful candidate will be subject to UK National Security Clearance in order to undertake related work in accordance with business needs. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Perform payload equipment component receiving inspection, preparation kits, assembly installation for test andor flight configuration. Waveguide and Units Assembly on various thermal fillers, encompassing skilled fitting operations Document and complete work according to company procedures SignoffComplete daily integration log and Work Instruction Connectivity Log, etc. Perform tie base installation using various 2 part adhesives Prepare, use, apply, handle and dispose of chemical and hazardous substances such as thermal filler, silver epoxy, Araldite, Electrodag and Solithane Perform Mechanical Ground Support Equipment handling and lifting operations Prepare, clean, route, secure and mating torque flight and test RF coax cables DC harnesses installation and removal of DC Cannon connectors Know and perform harnesssecuring methods such as fibreglass taping, tie wraps, lacing chord, tie bases. Experience of torque methods order and value Thread and fillet locking methods Solithane, Scotchweld, DP490 Calibrate and properly use torque tools crimp tools mechanical and harness and required hardware Understand technical documents Drawings, procedures, technical notes, etc Keep Integration areas tools, toolboxes, workstations, etc clean and tidy 5S Use the machine shop for minor fabrication, modification and repair Working as a member of an AIT team with electrical and mechanical specialists whose objective is to produce world leading satellite payloads Support On Shift work 50100 of the time for all hours 7 days a week onsite and perform offsite operations as required. Work hours will include periods of normal day work and 2 or 3 shift systems including weekend working. This role will involve some travel for business and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience Minimum of HNC level in Manufacturing or Production discipline Recognised Mechanical Fitter technician level apprenticeship Working background in Mechanical Assembly, Electrical Integration Proven handson experience in Assembly, Manufacturing or Production environment within the Aerospace industry Experience with working in a high quality driven process orientated engineering organisation Hands on experience RF Assembly including COAX and Wave Guide Experience with MultiLayer Insulation Machine Shop trained Experience of Lean engineering knowledge of process improvement, Quality and manufacturing process documentation Clean room experience Advanced level of English. You will be in charge to produce a consistent high quality product in line with production paperwork. You will be certified as competent in the required skills as dedicated by the area skills matrix. You will undertake production activities in the required timescale in line with the production plan. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include Perform Mechanical Integration harness wiring and performance testing of Satellite Payloads. Working as a member of an AIT Operations team to consistently produce items which conform to all quality requirements in accordance with the production plan. Work to the required process standard as dictated by the relevant area skills matrix. Ability to read and work to shop floor documentation such as routings, drawing, work instructions and bills of material.
