The first of two Sentinel3 spacecraft is planned to be launched in mid2015. The Challenge We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer for Mission Control System Support, to be located at the customers site, EUMETSAT in Darmstadt, Germany. The main area of responsibility of this position is for supporting to the evolution and maintenance of the Sentinel3 Mission Control System. The Sentinel3 Mission Control System is built from MICONYS software components such as SCOS2000, FARC, PARC and NIS. The tasks to be undertaken typically include Maintenance and Evolution Activities Reengineering activities analysis of the porting of some subsystems to stateofthe art technologies, tradeoff studies of various technologies, software design of the technical solutions, following the procurement of the changes with external contractors and verification testing of the changes Evolutions and changes generation andor analysis of userdriven and maintenancedriven software requirements, software design of the technical solutions, following the procurement of the changes with external contractors and verification testing of the changes Preventive and corrective maintenance including the investigation and correction or following the corrections implemented by external contractors of anomalies in the software facilities and verification testing of the fixes Maintenance test procedures generation and updates of maintenance test procedures at software facility level and at system level Support and development of the verification infrastructure development andor procurement of scripts I tools to perform installation checks, nonregression, functional and performance testing. Ensure operations continuity by provision of oncall services and software support to operations. Training prepare and provide training covering usage and maintenance aspects of the application software Technical Management Documentation generation and updates of technical documents Meeting participation participation to technical, progress and team meetings as needed and requested Routine reporting preparation and production of routine reports as necessary Technical point of contact for maintenance contractors acting as point of contact with the contractor for technical discussions, review of technical documentation from the contractor, organizing periodical technical meetings with the contractor This is a fulltime position with a planned starting date in May 2015. Interviews at the customer site for the position are planned between 9th and 20th March.
