ResponsibilitiesDuties Ground system operations support for Spacecraft mission in shift 16X5and offline setup Supporting scheduled simulations and test operations Preparation of the ground segment systems for scheduled activities, specially the Data Services System and Monitoring and Control System subsystems of scheduled preventive maintenance Work closely with the subsystem engineers to ensure that any service changes are correctly implemented and documented Oncall services might be requested. This crossprojects permanent position will allow the key person to be involved in many programmes in the areas of Telecommunications, RF and Ground Stations contributing from the design to the maintenance and VV activities. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Contribute to the follow up of the detailed design and development activities of Phase BCD of the future ground segments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications. Contribute to the MTG MDAF and TTCF Warranty and Maintenance phases in the areas of Telecommunications, RF and Ground Stations. Contribute to the maintenance and evolution in phase E to the other programmes within the organization in the areas of Telecommunications, RF and Ground Stations. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory University degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline relevant to the profile together with the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks. Demonstrated experience in a similar function for at least 2 years in the following Ground stations system and subsystem design and development for TTC TTC baseband equipment and SLE compliant implementations Technical background in the specification and VV of ground stations and large antennas and tracking systems for GEO and LEO satellites Knowledge of modulationdemodulation schemes applied by Ground to Space ICD for TTC and payload data transmission e.g. ECSS and CCSDS Standards. Fluency in English, both written and spoken. The following skills would be highly desirable Competence and experience in the engineering processes for managing requirements from the definition phase through the traceability, verification, validation and maintenance stages using formal methods and tools e.g. DOORs. System experience with Link budget analysis and tools in S, X and Ka Band. Position Reference 857 In order to integrate the Ground Segment Operations Centre part of the Space Systems department of this wellknown organization, we are currently looking for a Payload Data Ground Segment System Engineer to work at our clients premises in the city of Rome, Italy. This PDGS expert will have the opportunity to share hisher experience in the field of technical supervision and coordination of Payload Data Ground Segment engineering and AIV activities. Tasks and Activities The scope of work will include Technical responsibilities on SAR or Multispectral Processors, Hyperspectral and Thermal Processors, but also processing Infrastructures, Catalogue and Archive Systems, and coordinating subcontracted CALVAL Facilities subsystems activities. Technical realisation and coordination of Payload Data Ground Segment engineering and AIV activities. Realizing and supervising subsystems design down to component level. Preparation of subsystems technical requirements specifications. Definition and justification of SS architecture, from concept to detailed design phase. Definition and control of SS technical interfaces, internal and external towards space and launch segments. Engineering budgets and SS performance. Skills and Experience The following skills and experience are mandatory Masters degree in Aerospace Engineering or similar academic cursus. Professional experience of at least 3 years in Ground Segment engineering projects for space systems. Proven experience in definition and design of Payload Data SS for EO systems. Strong competences in design and development of EO space systems. Strong competences in the Commissioning activities with regards to calibration and validation of EO systems. Experience in the definition, management and traceability of requirements structure with the support of DOORS or other similar tool. Use of simulation tools for the definition of GS performances, e.g. Stk, MATLAB, IDL, Python. Proven capability to define of GS design throughout the support of model based methods, techniques and tools e.g. SysML, UML, Capella MBSE. Sound knowledge of ground system engineering processes, and ground system and software life cycles. Sound knowledge of relevant ECSS standards. Experience with coordinating partners from different companies in an international project. Results oriented attitude. Planning and organizational skills. Capability to build trust and show inspiring leadership based on strong indirect management skills. Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Italian is an asset.
