Your Job The Senior Spacecraft Engineer specialized in the Payload subsystem, with specific scope within the SES MEO constellation fleet. The team is in charge of MEO Payload Engineering, spacecraft inorbit operations and performance monitoring, as well as support to spacecraft planning, design and procurement. Your Responsibilities Support MEO payload mission and operations. Support Launch, LEOP, Payload IOT and transition phasing of MEO satellites into constellation for Start of Service. Maximize satellite and constellation fleet availability and longevity Monitor health status and provide oncall support for satellites in operation, including recovery and followup of eventual spacecraft offlimit conditions, anomalies and service interruptions Support tool and procedure development of payload mission for MEO constellation current and future mPower Develop and maintain tools for evaluating and trending payload and constellation performance Support the design and procurement of new satellites, including MEO mPower constellation, for spacecraft design reviews, integration, ground and inorbit testing. Act as Payload Operations interface for platform systems, sales engineering, ground operations and systems architecture and engineering teams. Support endtoend design solutions. Requires a thorough understanding of endtoend communications link budgets Support spacecraft anomalies and contingency operations, including new operational solutions, for contingency operations at spacecraft and constellationlevel Your Profile Bachelors degree in Engineering Masters degree preferred, with a specialization in Radio Frequency telecommunications. Previous exposure to digital payload technology and operation is considered a strong asset e.g. digital transparent processor Minimum 2 years for Senior 7 years of industryrelated experience New graduates considered for nonsenior position Have a thorough understanding of the satellite payload subsystems, including the management all the equipment on board of the spacecraft that is required for proper transmission of the customer signal Have a strong sense of initiative and a selfstarter attitude Ability to adapt to fastpaced or custom situations with innovative and effective solutions Ability to effectively respond to and interact with all levels of organizational staff Have a sound theoretical knowledge, and be eager to implement it in a practical environment Have strong analytical and problemsolving skills Have strong computer software skills. Spacecraft Operations Engineer Darmstadt, Germany Thorn Satellite Data Services Thorn SDS has an exciting opportunity for an early career Spacecraft Operations Engineer with 25 years of relevant experience. This role provides you with a unique opportunity to undertake realtime Spacecraft Operations on a highprofile meteorological satellite fleet in geostationary orbit. You will also work in parallel as an Operations Preparations Engineer to prepare for the operations of the next generation of spacecraft. Working as part of a highly technical and coordinated engineering team you should be true team player. We expect you to be willing and able to provide cover and support to your colleagues and undertake occasional call out responsibilities. It is likely that you will have main or backup responsibilities for one or a number of spacecraft subsystems including Thermal TCS, Electrical Power Systems EPS, Data Handling DHS, Telemetry Tracking and Control TTC, Attitude and Orbit Control AOCS etc. Although some training will be provided, any experience in one or more of these disciplines would be beneficial. Responsibilities Support routine and contingency operations of the MSG satellites. Provision of operational expertise to the relevant platform subsystem andor instrument. Qualification Experience You should have a University degree in the domain of engineering, physics or equivalent and additionally have some working experience of either routine operations of satellite systems or operations preparation, ideally within a geostationary spacecraft environment. Some experience of interfacing to Flight Dynamics and Mission Planning teams would also be beneficial. Much of the role involves data analysis, reporting, prioritising actions according to constraints, preparing technical presentations and developing technical solutions to complex issues so these activities should all be second nature to you. This job is to perform spacecraft GNCAOCS systems design and analysis for ispaces Lunar lander development. The ideal candidate will have a broad knowledge base in spacecraft GNCAOCS system design and analysis. Specific experience on interplanetary probes or in landing on celestial bodies is highly desired. The effort includes all phases from specifications to flight support Design, analysis, verification and validation in software in the loop, processor in the loop and hardware in the loop test environments, support in the development of operational procedures and operations support. Key Responsibilities Participate in product definition, specification and requirements phases Collaborate on architecture design, component selection, including make or buy decisions, with other design and analysis team members. Participate in sensors and actuators procurement activities. Document requirements and specification. Design, simulate, and test guidance, navigation, and control algorithms for spacecraft. Validate and verify GNC flight software through softwareintheloop, processorintheloop, and hardwareintheloop integration campaign. Support mission design and lunar landing site selection. Support integration, troubleshooting and testing.
