The tasks will generally cover the routine operations of the EPS MetOp Spacecrafts and its different instruments as well as the operations preparation of the upcoming EPSSG MetOpSG Spacecraft. ResponsibilitiesDuties Support the routine operations of the EPS MetOp satellites. Provision of operational expertise to the relevant system andor platform and instrument. Maintain the corresponding operations documentation and flight procedures. Perform trending and performance analysis on the corresponding subsystems and instruments. Investigation into satellite anomalies. Participation in satellite oncall support rota. Identification and support to the implementation of system and process improvements concerning the spacecraft operations team responsibilities. Support the systems and operations preparation of EPSSG MetOpSG satellite. Support the system and operations preparation of other LEO satellites QualificationsExperience University degree in the domain of engineering, physics, or equivalent. Some experience in operations preparation and routine operations of satellite systems and subsystems preferably LEO are an asset. Essential Skills Knowledge of relevant CCSDS and ESA PUS standards, Very good knowledge of Python, Very good knowledge of XML, Excellent interpersonal skills, Proven ability to synthesise complex issues, Proven ability to plan and implement activities, prioritising according to constraints, interdependencies and opportunities, Excellent reporting skills, Experience in writing formal technical documentation, Fluent in English speaking and writing. Desirable Skills Knowledge and experience with CHART are an asset, Knowledge of the SCOS2000 Mission Control System are an asset as well as knowledge of database and OBSM management. Depending on the mission assignment, during the prelaunch phase assist in configuring and testing the operational system to support the operations. The successful candidate may be required to develop methods or tools to assist in the execution of the operations. Depending on the mission assignment, Onconsole involvement in Mission Readiness Tests, System Validation Tests, simulations and Launch and Early Orbits Phase operations authorised by the Spacecraft Operations Manager, following established rules and procedures. Immediately inform the Spacecraft Operations Manager andor hisher official deputy when a major or critical anomaly is detected, in accordance with the established procedures. Participate to other operationsrelated activities small system development, procedures development or maintenance etc upon request of the Team Leader. Depending on the assignment, perform any of the abovementioned tasks either as a Shift SpaCon or as a Backup SpaCon, i.e. continuously training on more than one mission to be ready to replace any of the other Team Members at short notice, if need be. Ideal candidate The successful candidate shall meet the following requirements A solid technical background or a BSc degree in a related subject such as Aerospace Engineering, Telecommunications, Physics etc. Experience working with computer systems and PC literacy is required, DB knowledge would be useful. Candidates should be ordered, disciplined and have an efficient thinking mind as the appointed person should feel comfortable in a strictly proceduredriven working environment. Due to the operational nature of the job, candidates shall be able to work in a calm and correct manner under conditions of stress and in almost full authonomy e.g. during night shifts. As the successful candidate could be part of a small Ops Team working on a 247 shift rotation pattern, team spirit is also essential to adapt to the sometimes unavoidable shortterm changes to the shift plan resulting from sudden sicknesses or other exceptional circumstances.
