Your role at EUMETSAT We are looking for a Service Delivery Engineer to join our Software Delivery Team and to manage two key interfaces Firstly, supporting business users requesting new ICT services or enhancements and secondly supporting our implementation teams delivering systems fulfilling agreed user requirements. Key to this role is your capacity to understand the needs and processes of your customers to facilitate solutions and improvements which bring about system improvements. You will provide engineering support, establishing whether user requirements demands a bespoke solution or whether there is a commercial offtheshelf COTS software option, including cloud solutions. With proven experience in eliciting and documenting user requirements in suitable formats and exposure to complex business processes, you will be solution orientated, and have the ability to oversee acceptance testing and roll out activities. You will have experience in complex document and information management systems. We expect you to have strong interpersonal and communication skills with excellent organisational and time management capabilities. This is a customer focused role, so you will need to be a team player, with the ability to facilitate changes which benefit our staff. We are looking to further enhance our team by adding a Sentinel6JasonCS IV Engineer 3 positions You will be based initially for 2 years at our clients headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Your Tasks The engineer shall cover the following Preparatory activities for the Integration and Verification The typical activities shall cover but not be limited to the following tasks Analysis of VCD. For the requirements to be verified by test, analysis and inspection, ensure the scope is in line with the expected scope and configuration of the S6JCS GS tranches and that the testing activities can be scheduled within the foreseen timeframe Observation and analysis of IV activities performed as part of the GS procurements Maintenance of the existing integration and verification test specifications and generation of additional ones as needed Maintenance of existing test tools and test data, as well as development of additional test tools if necessary and the tuningmodification of test data Based on initial test specifications and other relevant documents lower level test docs, user manuals, etc write detailed test procedures By successive iterations refine the test procedures until they are in a status ready to be executed. Set up the test tools and refine the test data Analysis of problems and management of anomalies Carry out compatibility testing, in preparation for the integration activities Contribute to the integration and verification plans and support the Client team during the project reviews in relation to the IV documentation. Integration activities The typical activities shall cover but not be limited to the following tasks Scheduling and executing of integration activities in close coordination with Client, including requesting use of common resources such as MMEs Ensuring sufficiently in advance of execution that relevant procedures, tools and data are ready to be used, performing any final tuning or setup as necessary Organising and holding, under the Client direction, Integration Test Readiness Reviews TRR, in which the readiness of all required elements for integration will be checked e.g. the results of compatibility testing during the preparation activities, any constraint dealt with and the final arrangements for the execution of the integration tests taken Performing the integration activities and testing according to the plans, procedures and arrangements taken in the TRR, undertaking any required analysis of the resultsissues and recording the outcome in relevant reports, and anomaly reports where necessary Organising and holding, under the Client direction, Integration Test Review Board meetings in which completion of the integration activities related to each block of verification activities will be assessed Supporting Anomaly Review Board ARB meetings if applicable Liaising with Client teams and development contractors for technical issues related to the utilisation of the facilities, the communication of anomalies, the followup of their resolution and installation of patches or new releases Producing a report summarising the results of the ICD verification. Verification activities The typical activities shall cover but not be limited to the following tasks Scheduling and executing verification activities and testing in close coordination with Client Ensuring sufficiently in advance of the execution of the tests that relevant procedures, tools and data are ready to be used, performing any final tuning or setup as necessary Organising and holding, under the Client direction, Verification Test Readiness Reviews TRR, in which the readiness of all required elements to perform a specific set of ground segment activities will be checked, any constraint dealt with and the final arrangements for the execution of the tests taken Performing the Verification activities according to the plans, procedures and arrangements Maintaining the OGS VCD and recording the results of the tests in DOORS Organising and holding, under the Client direction, Verification Test Review Board TRB meetings in which completion of the verification activities related to each block of verification activities will be assessed Supporting Anomaly Review Board ARB meetings if applicable Liaising with Client teams and service providers for technical issues related to the utilisation of the facilities, the communication of anomalies, the followup of their resolution and installation of patches or new releases Produce verification reports. Data Centre Operations Engineer

Can you apply your knowledge and expertise in data centre operations to ensure our Users maintain a steady access to satellite data, products and Climate Date Records? The Role Bring your experience of data centre operations, ideally gained from managing meteorological data, to help us provide services to our users. You will coordinate the routine operations activities of our data centre, ensuring that our provision of data services is accessible to our users. Your insights will contribute to the plans for routine operations and you will identify ways to harmonise engineering, maintenance and evolutions of all the data, products and Climate Data Records generated by EUMETSAT. You will interface with our user community, supervising anomaly investigation in the Data Centre Archives, monitoring support services supplied by contractors, and supporting the User Helpdesk. You must have experience of netCDF Format, along with other meteorological and earth observation data formats, metadata specifications and related tools. You need to be an experienced programmer, comfortable working in a variety of programming languages. We are looking for someone who has experience of the full software development lifecycle and the relevant industry standards. Our data processing systems are complex, so you will need to be able to use your analytical and planning skills, often coordinating activities in a matrix environment. Duties The postholder will be responsible for building up increased use of civilian EO capabilities in all security domains consistent with the ESA Convention.
