We are looking for a Data Processing System Engineer Responsibility The following responsabilies are foreseen not limited to Followup on the ground segment facility suppliers activities Review of the data pack delivered for the reviews Support preparation of deliverables to other Contractors Participation in other Contractors reviews in the frame of PDR, CDR, acceptance of different version of ground segment Support for the Data pack for the OGS CDR and possibly other intermediate checkpoints Support of the relevant OGS and System activities Technical baseline engineering monitoring and update Tests and acceptance phases preparation Profile Mandatory skills University degree or equivalent in a discipline relevant to the job profile. At least 3 years relevant in preparation of requirements, design, interfaces and testing documentation for data processing systems for Earth Observation missions experience on data processing for high data rates missions will be considered an asset More than 4 years relevant experience with L1L2 processing software for Earth Observation missions, either for operationsmaintenance or specification and development. Demonstrated experience knowledge of the requirements engineering process, including relation between requirements, ICDs, design and testing documentation Demonstrated ability to learn and develop the needed skills and knowledge to contribute to the implementation of the service. This includes the ability to rapidly absorb, and make use of, information presented in written and oral communications in a dynamic context Demonstrated experience with UNIXLinux operating systems. Additional skills considering as an added value Knowledge of the IBM DOORS tool or an equivalent for requirements management Experience of validating complex remote sensing data processing systems Knowledge of ECSS and CCSDS standards Knowledge andor experience of quality control, instrument calibration and IVV.

Ground Stations System Engineer

For our customer in Darmstadt we are looking for a Ground Stations System Engineer to support in the ground segment developments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications. You will be involved not only in the existing MSG and EPS programmes but also in future missions like EPSSG, MTG and JasonCS. The successful candidate will be based at EUMETSAT headquarters in Darmstadt, Germany. Due to the nature of the tasks it is estimated that up to 20 of the activities may be conducted outside of EUMETSAT premises travel to Ground Stations and backup centres located within Europe. Within the Ground Stations Competence Area CA of the System Engineering and Projects Division SEP, the Ground Stations System Engineer will provide ground station engineering support to the development of future satellite systems, in particular the EUMETSAT Meteosat Third Generation MTG and Polar System Second Generation EPSSG and JasonCSSentinel6, and to operations of the existing Meteosat Second Generation, the EUMETSAT Polar System and Jason3 systems. DUTIES In support to the development or upgrade of Ground Stations Lead the specification and requirements definition activities Contribute to procurement and followup the contractors development activities Followup the Assembly, Integration and Tests of new ground stations procured from industry, and lead on site acceptance testing Lead the definition, execution and evaluation of tests for upgrades or refurbishment of ground stations Define and validate with ground segment, system development and operations preparation teams an adequate transition plan from ground station acceptance to entry into operations, including contributions to relevant ground segment and system Integration Verification and Validation tests Lead the definition and control the implementation of integrated maintenance plans for ground stations Support the Ground Stations Competence Area Manager in defining long term plans and roadmaps to harmonise Ground Station engineering, maintenance and evolutions across all EUMETSAT satellite systems including associated processes. Experience of communicating and teamworking, preferably in a matrix environment EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS The initial contract will be of 4 years duration, with subsequent 5year contracts being awarded thereafter, subject to individual performance and organisation requirements. There is no limit to the amount of followup contracts a staff member can receive up to the EUMETSAT retirement age of 63 and there are certainly opportunities to establish a long career perspective at EUMETSAT. This post is graded A2A4 on the EUMETSAT salary scales. The minimum basic salary for this post is EURO 5,612 per month net of internal tax which may be negotiable based on skills and experience. The salary scale provides for increments on the anniversary of taking up employment, and scales are reviewed by the EUMETSAT Council with effect from 1 January each year.
