YOUR TASKS The EUMETSAT Technical and Scientific Support Department TSS provides support to operations of existing satellite systems and to the development of new programmes. Currently EUMETSAT operates the Meteosat Second Generation MSG, the EUMETSAT Polar System EPS and the Copernicus Sentinel 3 space and ground satellite systems. In addition, EUMETSAT is contributing to the operation of a number of other missions, such as JASON, NPP and some other 3rd Party Missions. The focus of routine operations at EUMETSAT is the provision, by effective utilisation of all elements of the space and ground systems, of timely and reliable operational services to the users. For the future, several new missions are in preparation such as Meteosat Third Generation MTG, EPS Second Generation EPS SG, Sentinels follow on and others. Within the System Engineering and Projects Division SEP of the Technical and Scientific Support Department TSS, the Contractor will provide services EUMETSAT contributing to the System Engineering activities for Data Processing systems, MultiMission systems and Ground Segment level systems for existing and future missions. The services will initially cover the system and interfaces engineering activities by contributing to the routine operations of the operational programmes and contributing to multimission systems. In the frame of support provided by the TSS Department to the development of new programmes, the tasks of the Contractor will then gradually evolve to provide also service to the future programmes as they become operational, in the area of ground segment system engineering and, in particular, interfaces definition. The Contractor shall contribute to maintaining the overall system design documentation of the existing and future ground segment level systems, data processing systems and multimission elements MMEs, hereafter named as systems. When evolutions of these systems are proposed and implemented, the Contractor shall analyse them and verify the system and interfaces coherence. In the role of service to the maintenance and evolution activities of the operational programmes, the tasks of the Contractor shall include Contribute to the System Requirements Definition process andor maintaining existing requirements baselines Contribute to the maintenance, for all the operational ground systems, of a complete and consistent set of System Technical Documentation and the baseline Contribute to the creation of System Engineering models of Ground Systems using an MBSE approach e.g. Enterprise Architect andor maintaining existing model baselines Perform technical analysis of system architecture and specification evolutions or major upgrades of the operational ground systems, for interfaces coherence and compatibility check with other ongoing developments Contribute to the IVV testing approach for major evolutions of the operational ground systems and contribute to the coordination of the installation, integration and verification of new systems into the operational infrastructure Contribute to the various OPS TSS Projects and associated reviews, as required, providing System Engineering contributions during the design phase and contribute actively to the definition of the IVV activities Contribute to the assessment of Engineering Tasks providing System Engineering expertise to CRBs and ARBs Contribute to the impact analysis of ICT evolutions in operational systems. Contribute to the analysis, investigations and resolution of system and ground segment level anomalies Provide expert inputs to EUMETSAT engineers on all related activities as requested Contribution to the OPS regular coordination processes as requested. In the role of services to the development of new EUM programmes, the tasks of the Contractor shall include Participate to the description of the system architecture and interfaces between external systems and the mission specific elements of the ground system including data processing systems and MMEs In coordination with the system and interface engineers of the future ground segment, ensure that the definition and documentation of new interfaces are compatible with the methodology used in Operations this includes the use of common templates for Interface Control Document and the use of the same tool for maintaining the interfaces data dictionary Provide support to the definition of the IVV approach for the future ground systems. YOUR PROFILE Experience in the field of Systems Engineering and architectural design for data processing systems, MMEs and ground segment systems Capability to prepare system requirements and design documents, and to perform systemlevel analyses for complex satellitebased systems. Experience of writing technical requirements preferably to ECSS standards. Experience of interface management and definition. Familiarity with mechanisms and tools for detailed interface definition. Capability to prepare and manage ICD. Use of modelling and design languages for System Engineering e.g. SysML and tools in support of architectural design activities e.g. Enterprise Architect Knowledge of space and ground system engineering processes, and system and software lifecycles and standards. Definition, management and traceability of requirements structure with the support of dedicated tools e.g. DOORS. Experience in Integration, Verification and Validation IVV of complex systems. In addition, for the accomplishment of the listed tasks, the team shall possess knowledge and experience in the following two mandatory domains, and minimum of two nonmandatory Mandatory Data processing IVV for Ground Segment. Engineer, Ground Systems Island of Man Douglas Your Job Based on the Isle of Man, you will implement and provide operational support for ground stations and systems processes, for the Isle of Man and teleports abroad, which are used to enable SES spacecrafts deploymentsoperations as well as to deliver services to SES customers. You will design, analyze, specify, implement and enhance SES TTC and Teleport Communications Systems, as well as the Ground Control Monitoring Systems that SES requires in order to fulfill its multiple satellite missions. This position will also require maintaining and enhancing Spacecraft Operation Control SOC infrastructures and associated baseband systems, the ranging and inorbit systems as well as the fix and mobile teleport infrastructures for payload signal uplinks or related IFRF measurement systems. As a member of the Mission Performance Team of the Realtime Services and System Operations Division RSO, the Junior Systems Engineer supports the engineering and rollout into operations of multimission monitoring, reporting solutions and other performance monitoring systems related to online data access systems and cloudbased platforms for data access services. The initial focus will be on developing capabilities to reach full proficiency in the area of operations of online data access systems and cloudbased data access service platforms in a 247 operational environment. DUTIES Support the operational rollout of upgrades to online data access systems, cloudbased data access service platforms and other multimission elements required for future satellite systems e.g. MTG, EPSSG, JasonCS Maintain documentation relating to multimission system operations Support the upgrade of multimission monitoring and reporting solutions and other performance monitoring tools, including maintaining requirements, reviewing design and technical proposals and coordination of validation test campaigns Support the analysis and evolution of other aspects of multimission system infrastructure and operations Support the configuration and routine operations of multimission monitoringreporting systems, online data access systems and cloudbased data access services platforms. Additional contracts may be awarded thereafter, subject to individual performance and organisation requirements. There is no limit to the amount of followup contracts a staff member can receive up to the EUMETSAT retirement age of 63, and there are certainly opportunities to establish a long career perspective at EUMETSAT. This post is graded A1 on the EUMETSAT salary scales. The minimum basic salary for this post is EURO 4393 per month net of internal tax which may be negotiable on the basis of skills and experience. G2G System Operations Engineer

In the frame of Galileo, ESA is designing the evolution of the current system which will replenish the constellation under deployment. The system has successfully gone through the System PRR process which ends the Phase A and is starting the activities for launching the Phase B. An industrial support has been required for carrying out the system engineering activities. In this context, we are looking for a G2G System Operations Engineer to work in Noordwijk Netherlands, the location could be in Transinne or Darmastrad also. Specific Tasks Perform a tradeoff analysis for what concern the operational concepts seeking cost reductions during deployment and final operation. Perform the following tasks tasks identified in ECSS o Operational analysis and concept development o Operational interfaces definition o Operations engineering plan production o Contribution to ground segment and ground systems requirements specification Define the operation aspects related with launchers Define input to the Operation System Requirement Document OSRD that implements the developed operation concept.
