JOB DESCRIPTION SW Engineer for Space projects Responsibilities Duties Tasks We are looking for a SW engineering, involved in SW development and validation tasks for Aerospace projects. Should have a background in Java and webbased technologies. Will be located at Bucharest but will have a training period in the headquarters in Madrid. Qualifications Aerospace Engineer, Mathematician, Physicist. Job Description In the frame of a DLR and NASA space mission, Active Space Technologies GmbH is performing a broad range of System Engineering activities on a scientific instrument for space exploration. For these tasks, it is looking for a moderately experienced space systems engineer. The candidate, under the supervision of the Instrument Chief Engineer and in team with several other engineers in AST Systems, Thermal, Mechanical, Quality, shall perform a broad set of System Engineering tasks during the development and manufacturing of the instrument. These include Definition of IF toward spacecraft and toward subsystems Tracking of the internal interfaces within and between subsystems Definition of performance metrics, tracking and descriptions Preparation of and participation in technical discussions, conferences, teleconferences, reviews and meetings Description of the system design, including creation and maintenance of the design description document Collect and provide risk information to the PAQA Manager Collaborate with the PAQA Manager in the definition of the Ground Support Equipment specifications Design, plan and performance of some development tests Required Experience and skills Master or equivalent degree in Aerospace Engineering with a focus on Space Systems, or a degree in another field of Engineering, with a Systems focus, with additional experience in the Space Industry. 3 years of experience in at least one field of Space Engineering dealing with Hardware design and development eg. Structural, Thermal, Electronics, AIT, etc. In case of an engineering degree other than Aerospace Engineering, 2 additional years are requested. Fluent in English, spoken and written, with proven ability to create, write and maintain technical documents Broad knowledge and great interest of multiple space domains e.g. thermal, structural, AOCS, Electronics, Testing, the space environment, space hardware in general and the typical issues of the space sector. The candidate shall be able and willing to deal, at system level, with a wide series of different issues. Some experience on multidisciplinary System Engineering, even if on small subsystem or limited projects. Able to communicate easily and effectively with scientists and engineers of different ages, nationalities and backgrounds Team spirit and flexibility. Desired Experience Some experience in a scientific environment and in communication with scientists Some knowledge of Software Development Experience on MGSE Knowledge of German.
