We require staff, wishing to join our team to work in a dynamic international environment for the following position Software Engineer for Space Communication System mf MPCCSW201501 Tasks and Responsibilities The Multi Purpose Computer and Communications MPCC is a space communications programme aimed at enhancing the existing communication paths between the International Space Station ISSColumbus flight and ground system by adding bidirectional IPbased communication through the existing Kuband link, and by supporting a Kaband terminal at Columbus with an additional bidirectional communication path complementing the Kuband communication. Implementing this will Support the operations a new class of onboard experiment ESA class3 payloads with wired or wireless access to the Columbus LAN andor Joint Station LAN JSL and routing to ground users via JSL2 network. Enable additional groundbased users to contribute to the utilization of ISSColumbus using low cost flight hardware, low cost ground segment systems and a low cost operations concept and by this a reduction of overall cost for experiment execution on board the ISSColumbus. Groundspaceground communications tofrom users based on Internet Protocol IP. Extend the space to ground downlinkuplink capability via a Columbus Ka band terminal COLKA allowing bidirectional transfer of IP communication as well as downlink of bitstream data. European IP Communication Laptop EICL installed in Columbus as data router, COLKA controller and IP security instance. The work will be performed onsite in Bremen, Germany, as part of a team. Qualifications and Experience Applicants should have as a minimum abachelor degree in computer related fields, and at least 3 years experience in a related field. Furthermore, candidates are required to have experience with Linux IP IPtables, routing, dynamic routing, security hardening on Intel HW platform PC. DTN Disruption tolerant networking. IP protocols TCPUDP, higher level protocols. Server Management Software e.g. Zabbix. Documentation Manual, Architectural Design Document. Experience with programming languages operating systems is essential. Any certificate related to networks or network security is an asset. Please note that previous experience within Space or MOD projects is only desirable rather than essential. The initial role is expected to be on the Galileo satellite navigation project for the European Space Agency. For this, CGI is developing the ground station systems that oversee Galileo security and that control interaction with the 30 satellites, control the distribution of navigation data to the satellites and ground equipment, and that control access to the public regulated service by authorised bodies throughout the EU. CGI is developing bespoke software, procuring hardware specialist cryptographic equipment and COTS equipment and assembling the systems in racks at our Leatherhead site in the UK. One of our Space clients is looking for a quality engineer to work with their clients and their customer this is for a role based in Holland and will involve working in the testing area, assembly integration and test work on solar arrays from a quality perspective. The responsibilities for this role should include The review and Approval of the test run procedures in house using sign off sheets. Control of the clients test facility readiness and being responsible for the calibration of test equipment. Control of placing sensors used for acceleration and also running vibration testing. Perform readiness test reviews and posttest reviews. Observing Assembly Integration and Test activities. Maintain control of all function tests before, during and after all environmental tests including Vibration, Thermal Cycle, Acoustic noise and Electromagnetic compatibility testing. Review and checking of the test results and obtaining signatures on the test report sign off. Creation of Nonconformance reports using the clients own process system. Monitor performance of KIPs and MIPs and generate MIP reports. Support configuration management activities such as built in Status and accountability items. Control of satellite transport preparation for transport to the launch site. Regular reporting to the client and in particular to their Quality Assurance Lead and the Product Assurance Manager. Ideally at least five years of professional experience preferably in space industry in Quality Assurance.
