Both the PS4 and Xbox One were announced to huge fanfare, but it wasn't polygons or frame rates that attracted the most attention. Instead, DRM has been the biggest point of contention leading up to the launch of the next generation. Microsoft came out strongly in favor of an all-digital future, but ended up being sent home with its tail between its legs. Now, we're in something of a holding pattern, and that likely isn't going to change any time soon.
Xbox One will not support AMDs Mantle, and PS4 is also unlikely. Is Mantle DOA?

According to a recent Microsoft blog post, AMD's Mantle -- the new API the company is banking on as a major performance booster -- won't be supported on the Xbox One. Does this change the chances that the new framework will succeed?

If you've invested in a nice wireless headset for the next-gen launch, prepare for some bad news. Unfortunately, the majority of wireless headsets will not work with the PS4 at launch. While Sony does plan on releasing compatibility patches down the road, this news leaves a rancid taste in the mouths of many core gamers who have already invested in Sony's own hardware.

Foxconn in Trouble Again Over PS4

Taiwanese manufacturer Foxconn, one of the world's most vilified workers-rights violators, confirmed reports that it is manufacturing Sony's upcoming PlayStation 4 on the backs of university interns. Chinese media broke the story, asserting that thousands of students from an engineering program at the Xi'an Institute of Technology are being forced to work at Foxconn's Yantai plant.
