After successfully demonstrating compliance with all accreditation body qualifications under EU EMC Directive and Radio Equipment Directive (RED), ANSI will offer notified body (NB) accreditation under conformity assessment standard ISO/IEC 17065, Conformity Assessment - Requirements for bodies certifying product, process and services. ANSI's latest recognition falls under guidelines of NIST-National Voluntary Conformity Assessment System Evaluation (NVCASE) program.

ANSI seeks comments on new ISO field of activity.

International Organization for Standardization has circulated proposal for new field of activity on location requirements of urban pedestrian bridge assemblies in cities. A pedestrian bridge or "footbridge" is an elevated structure designed to facilitate safe access for pedestrians as they cross from one side of a traffic-heavy road or highway to the other. As the U.S. member body to ISO, ANSI invites all interested stakeholders to submit comments on proposal by March 25, 2016.
