Ground Segment System Architecture Engineer 1513041 Job Description We are looking for a Ground Segment System Architecture Engineer to support our client EUMETSAT within the System Engineering and Projects Division. You will support in the following areas of work Modelling of ground segment subsystems, addressing functional, behavioural and interface aspects Refactoring of the architectural design of existing systems within the context defined for the Reference Ground Segment Support the consolidation and evolution of the Reference Architecture Definition of requirements for the components of the architecture. You will perform system engineering activities such as Requirements engineering, which consists in requirement analysis and validation, requirement allocation, and requirements maintenance Functional analysis and architecture design applying system modelling engineering methods and techniques Subsegment components specification Interface and data structures and flows definition Design which results in an architecture, described by its complete functional, physical and software characteristics System analysis, which is performed for the purpose of resolving requirements conflicts, decomposing and allocating requirements, assessing system effectiveness Performance of trade studies for assessing effectiveness, risk, cost and planning. You will perform the following specific tasks 1. Build models of Subsystem of the RA Ground Segment, capturing their requirements, describing the internal architecture and defining their external interfaces 2. Support the generation, review and maintenance of the documentation of the RA Subsystems addressing their architecture, functions, requirements and interfaces 3. Support the management of the requirements of the RA subsystem and Components, heeding on the evolution of the operational system and future systems, using DOORS 4. Categorise and link relevant Subsystem and Component requirements to the model for traceability 5. Refine the processes and working practices established for the application of the Model Based SE and the use of CORE 6. Support the administration, configuration, deployment and use of CORE licenses. Required Skills and Experience You shall have a university degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline relevant to the job profile together with the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks with a minimum of supervision. The following knowledge and experience is considered essential Extensive experience in the analysis of systems applications and modelling At least 5 years demonstrated experience in the field of systems engineering and architectural design Space and Ground System engineering processes, and System and Software lifecycles and standards. Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering methods, techniques and tools Experience in the use of modelling and design tools in support of architectural design activities e.g. CORE Definition, management and traceability of requirements structure with the support of dedicated tools e.g. DOORS. Desirable Skills and Experience Previous working experience in system engineering aspects of SystemGround Systems for MeteorologicalEarth Observation Satellites. Experience in evolution management andor product line management of assets shared across organisational parts is desirable. System Operations Engineer 1513040 Job Description We are looking for a System Operations Engineer for our client EUMETSAT. You shall provide support to the development and operation of the MSG Ground Segment and the EPS Overall Ground System OGS, as well as their evolution. Main duties will include the support to System operations in a realtime operations environment Endtoend operations monitoring Communications systems operations Security operations Infrastructure operations and evolution Business Continuity Multimission operations, including mass storage and archiving System Evolutions for existing and new programmes Manual and Automated system and satellite operations including planning and scheduling. The role comprises a range of tasks including the provision of support to the routine operation of the LEO GEO ground segments, as well as their evolution to include new programmes and system operations. defining andor maintening the routine operations procedures pertaining to system operations and the interfaces of the key systems within the ground segment. acquiring and maintaining a Systemwide view of the EUMETSAT ground segments. reviewing planned changes to the system configurations for LEO and GEO ground segments, and supporting the investigation of anomalies encountered through the routine system and ground segment operations. providing support to the development and operations preparation for recurrent satellites in existing operational programs e.g. MetopC and MSG4, and for future operational programs now in development including Sentinel3, MTG and EPSSG. interfacing with project teams on the implementation of system upgrades to support major operations projects, including System MidTerm Evolution Plan, recurrent satellites, and any System hardware and operating system obsolescence upgrade. Additionally you will perform the following routine operations tasks Definition and maintenance of system operations procedures, including System and ground segment procedures and operations guides Liaison with the spacecraft operations team to ensure the continuity and optimisation of spacecraft monitoring and control activities Liaison and coordination with the ground segment facility operations teams and system operations analysts to ensure the continuity and optimisation of ground segment and mission operations through procedure and operations guide updates, configuration changes, database or user interface changes etc. Interface and coordination with the systems maintenance teams and industry representatives to ensure optimised performance, including participating in the definition and implementation of any changes Provision of support to operational ground segment analyses Provision of standbyoncall support as system operations engineer, on an as needed basis.
