Role Description Summary The position is responsible for supporting commissioning of new services and providing 24x7 Level 3 Managed Services oncall support to the SES NOC. In addition, the incumbent will be responsible for engineering escalations and other services to keep the network stabilized and maintained for customer SLA requirements. The role will be primarily focused on the baseband equipment RF components of the product portfolio, but also includes a networking element. As a customer facing position, it will concentrate on the support and growth of existing new business products. The incumbent will gain a broad knowledge of SES product range and how these are integrated as customer solutions. Primary Responsibilities Key Result Areas Support Incident Management in line with Company defined ITIL processes, ensuring timely escalations as appropriate to meet Customer SLAs Ensure the configuration, testing, implementation inservice support by way of Level 3 Engineering Support to 24x7x365 NOC of SES Products Complete Operations Engineering changes as required, adhering to the defined Change Management process Work as part of a Global Team to ensure active Incidents are actioned utilizing a Follow the Sun support methodology Perform routine auditing of assigned Regional Area or specific Customer sites, liaising closely with NOC appropriate CSM RSL for any identified issues Participate in lifecycle of a customer project, Post Sales through to Customer Acceptance Liaise with customers and support the integration of SES products with their infrastructure Work with Engineering Product Development Teams in order to support the growth of the SES portfolio and the feedback potential improvements to baseband equipment RF components Work efficiently as part of a multidisciplinary team Adhere to delivery schedules and manage time accordingly Interact with other operational groups and support coordination of projects Proactively expand areas of knowledge and seek out new experience Development of technical support documentation for handover to Operations Develop a full understanding of existing SES systems, processes procedures to provide input for continuous improvement Ensure administration of Monitoring Tools to support customer solutions Ensure Incident Management ticketing system is updated with correct resolutions and closure codes to promote continual improvement of the troubleshooting process Perform other tasks as requested required Stay uptodate with stateoftheart IT concepts and technologies virtualization concepts mainly Oncall support duties will be required 247 on a rotational basis Competencies Performance Under Pressure Resilience Selfstarter Accountability Problem Solving Collaboration Qualification Experience REQUIRED Minimum 58 years of experience in the satellite or telecommunications industry Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Information Systems or equivalent experience with communications satellite systems or similar advanced technical support role Strong understanding of GEO, MEO, and LEO telecommunications satellite technologies and systems Experience troubleshooting, operating, and maintaining local and remote baseband, IF, RF, antennas, and WANLAN equipment Experience connecting remotely to mobility sites for remote troubleshooting, to include Oil and Gas Maritime platforms Solid working knowledge of Satellite Communications Baseband, Network Management, and Modem systems equipment e.g. Comtech, Idirect, Orbit, Intellian, Newtec, Gilat etc.. ROLE DESCRIPTION SUMMARY You will be responsible for contributing to the business optimization of SES by reviewing system performance, identifying best practice and implementation gaps and by taking action to resolve those gaps. You will develop system analysis methods, report regularly on system performances and propose improvements having a direct impact on SES revenues and profitability. You will lead technical implementation projects associated with automation of system resource optimization. These projects will involve multiple SES teams within Technology, Operations, and other relevant SES entities. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES KEY RESULT AREAS Develop and recommend tools to capture, collect, and produce analytical data allowing to profile system performance in term of key performance indicators with business impact Based on performance analysis, propose system changes improving performance of SES clients systems Define, secure and prepare datasets for statistical modelling with the support of SES Operations Incorporate findings and provide industry and competitor insights as part of model development and enhancement Propose new developments and enhancements to the SES software suite to assist with modelling and analysis of customers systems Assessment of performance at every step of the system implementation and later on during its operational phase, and feedback into lessons learned for future implementations Be the authority on MEO based satellite link analysis and customer solution development in support of SES product initiatives and customer opportunities. This includes configuration management oversight in the development and execution of satellite configuration changes. Propose enhancements to the MEO satellites system Payload and platform that will meet the needs of NOC, OEs, SOC, Asset Management, Systems Engineering and Solution Engineering. Support Network and Operations when investigating complex problems related to the SES systems SME for Operations on SES software related platforms Proactively audit and report customer network performances at regular intervals to ensure compliance to the SLA and uptodate configuration status including Gateway, Terminal, software, resources, IP, maintenance and sparing. Liaise with Operations and Solution Engineering to confirm proper and optimal configuration of each user service considering customer experience and SES resources with focus on MEO constellation. Collaborate with cross functioning teams, including Commercial, Product Development Mobility, Enterprise, Government, Spacecraft Engineering teams and Service Companies. Support the mPower team with analysis, tooling, product definition, terminal development and validating business cases for various opportunities Support the link budget model to ensure that it is correct, and the calculations meet the technical specifications made by SES Support the ARC simulator module to ensure it meets the technical and business needs of SES COMPETENCIES Strong knowledge of satellite link analyses, satellite link modelling tools and associated dependencies Demonstrate solid knowledge base on satellite technologies, systems and market aspects Demonstrate a good understanding of satellite payload architecture Ability of sound analytical and decision making skills Able to lead technical coordination efforts across different teams including the ability to take responsibility for work packages and topics Deep knowledge of O3B constellation and all associated operational aspects, with proven track record related to efficient interaction with multiple operational teams within SES Proven track record related to the implementation of new products in interaction with customers Possesses the capacity to monitor current service levels to ensure agreed standards are consistently delivered.
