The successful applicant will become a member of the Mars Express and ExoMars mission to support the spacecraft operations in a 247 shift team. As Spacecraft Controller you will monitor and control all operational progress for Spacecraft related procedures, as well as contribute to the preparation of database documentation, analysis of subsystems, applying the contingencyemergency procedures. This is an exciting opportunity for a technician or junior engineer to step into the world of space operations supporting our customer ESOC in Darmstadt, Germany. Ideal candidate The candidates should have a solid background in a technical or electronic environment, to the level of Senior Technician. A formal qualification to ONC or HNC would be advantageous. Or the candidate should have a degree at least at BSc level in a related subject such as Aerospace Engineering, Telecommunications, Physics etc. Experience working with computer systems and PC literacy is required. Specific Tasks The holder of this post will be responsible for Project Control and Administration activities within the Copernicus Space Segment Programme. As such, she will be assigned to and directly support one or more Copernicus projects and will liaise closely with the Copernicus Space Segment Programme Controller and the related services inside and outside the Directorate.
