EGSE Electrical Ground Support Equipment Software Engineer 1311070 Job Description The selected engineer will be assigned to the System Modelling and Functional Verification Section of the Software Systems Division. The task will initially be focused in the context of ESA projects on the verification of spacecraft monitoring and control data delivered by the Primes for use by Ground Segment and Operations. In the medium term, the support will extend to the area of system database SW development, including support to the divisional reference facility. The engineer will provide on demand expertise in activities related to space system database software production. This includes the following tasks Providing technical support to projects on specific issues related to space system database software development including software problem solving, exchange and interfaces with external systems, project reviews. Support for the Space System Database reference facility using in conjunction with the EGSE reference facility, including isolating and fixing software problems. Integrating industrial elements in the EGSE reference facility and verifying their functioning in end to end scenarios. Developing and performing end to end verification and validation tests including e.g. populating EGSE reference facility database, developing test procedures. Identifying, isolating and fixing software problems. Maintaining an EGSE software libraryconfiguration managementlab website. Required Skills and Experience University degree in electronic engineering, space systems engineering, computer science, mathematics or equivalent. The Challenge We are looking for a Software Engineer Monitoring and Control Subsystem MTG to be located at the customer site, in Darmstadt, Germany. The Software Engineer MTG would join Terma GmbHs activity as a full time employee, providing engineering support for the Meteosat Third Generation mission operation system MTG MCS, which will be based on the SCOS 2000 architecture. Typical tasks include Support the maintenance of MTG mission operations facility requirement specification in the area of monitoring and control system. Liaison with the operational users for the definition of the requirements baseline Monitoring the MTG MCS procurement Support the MTG ground segment team, the mission operations facility manager and the ground segment manager Interact with suppliers and partner organisations Participation to the reviews for the monitoring and control subsystem and interfacing facilities Preparation of technical notes and attendance at technical meetings Maintenance i.e. mainly configuration and installation of the SCOS 2000 MCS demonstrator installed for familiarisation of the operations preparation team with the mission operations facility MCS Analysis, review and generation of any relevant MTG documentation Maintenance and evolution of mission operations facility Java Eclipse RCP RAP based tools established in the frame of Phase B.
