Your Tasks Include The main task of the consultant will be the maintenance and further development of the operational MSG Image Processing Facility IMPF software, in particular, the algorithm and data processing aspects of the IMPF software. In addition, the consultant may also support development activities of the MTG and EPSSG Programmes. Primarily these development activities will focus on the Image Navigation and Registration processing, which is part of the mission instrument data processing. Both online and offline functions development are part of these activities. Typically, the tasks of the Consultant will include MSG Operations Support Developing an expert knowledge of the MSG Image Processing System. Investigating anomalies in the MSG Image Processing System. Specifying modifications to the MSG Image Processing System. Implementing modifications to the MSG Image Processing System. Verifying and validating modifications to the MSG Image Processing System. Updating the design and user documentation for the MSG Image Processing System. MTG Development Support Reviewing, analysing and anomaly investigation of MTG instrument data processing software from procurements. Supporting the integration, verification and validation of MTG instrument data processing deliveries. Supporting the development of a MTG reference processor at Client premises. Prototyping selected instrument data processing algorithms. EPSSG Development Support. Reviewing, analysing and anomaly investigation of EPSSG instrument data processing software from procurements. Supporting the integration, verification and validation of EPSSG instrument data processing deliveries. Prototyping selected instrument data processing algorithms. Your Profile In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, such as aerospace engineering, physics or remote sensing, the Consultant shall have strong mathematical skills and at least three years recent experience in Implementation of numerical algorithms, ideally in an imageprocessing context. Objectoriented system design. C programming. UNIX. Furthermore, it would be a distinct advantage for the Consultant to have experience with some of the following Realtime image processing of large volumes of data. Geometric correction navigation registration of satellite images. Radiometric correction calibration of satellite images. Performance optimisation of algorithms. IDL or MATLAB. Integration, verification, and validation of realtime data processing systems. Familiarity with ECSS standards, in particular those related to software development. The Consultant shall be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, shall be able to work calmly and correctly under stress and must be able to work with the minimum of supervision. Good communication, presentation and listening skills are an advantage. Fluency in English is mandatory together with good communication skills.

Your Tasks Include As a member of the Computer Systems Management CSM team, the Key person shall provide support to the development and maintenance of the TCE. The duties range from the support to the operation of the TCE, to the analysis, design, development, testing and maintenance of distributed hardware and system software platforms. In the performance of the activities the Key person shall apply the relevant change control and maintenance procedures. Your Profile In addition to having a university degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the key person shall have extensive experience in the administration and troubleshooting of distributed systems. The experience should have been made in an operational or production environment, characterized by custom applications in addition to standard software, running both on the client and server side, and by high availability requirements. The Key person shall have an expert knowledge and a significant work experience of the UNIX operating systems, and should be familiar, to the extent required by the performance of the above tasks, with as many as possible of the following system software environments on IBM computers AIX, configuration of pseries servers, GPFS, TSM backup, NIM on DELL computers SuSE Linux andor RedHat Linux Virtualization based on VMWare products Network based on Ethernet EMC RAID arrays and virtual appliances SAN technology TCPIP internetworking and the related network protocols and applications, e.g. NIS, NFS, DNS, SNMP, FTP on Sun computers Solaris operating systems Experience in some of the following areas shall be considered as an advantage Installation and maintenance of ORACLE databases Maintenance of an Online Documentation system FirstSecond Level user support.
