For our activities in EUMETSAT, we are currently seeking a Metop Spacecraft Operations Engineer SOE to work as part of the routine operations phase of EPS, including preparatory activities for MetopC and systemoperations preparation phase of EPSSG. Tasks The SOE shall work in the Operations and User Services Department as a member of the Metop Spacecraft Operations Team. Heshe shall be trained to provide operations expertise and support to one or more platform subsystems andor payload instruments, depending on hisher experience and the overall team needs. They shall also participate in coordinating the satellite operations activities of other team members and external teams responsible for onboard software management, simulator support, mission control, mission planning, flight dynamics and ground stations. Furthermore, the SOE shall support system and operations preparation activities for MetopC, for Metop Second Generation satellites and possibly also for Sentinel3 and JasonCS. The SOE shall be required to support operations during normal working hours, as well as support the oncall operations engineer rota, such that safe and efficient operations are ensured by the Spacecraft Operations Team on a 247 basis. The tasks of the SOE will typically include Support to the routine operations of Metop A, B and preparing for MetopC, comprising Provision of operational expertise to one or more platform subsystems andor payload instruments Maintain the corresponding operations documentation and flight procedures, including the update and operational validation of procedures releases in a configuration controlled environment Perform trending and performance analysis on the corresponding subsystems and instruments, including definition and possibly prototyping of additional analysis checks where necessary Investigations into satellite anomalies.
