SES Techcom Services has currently a need for resources to support the design, development, testing and delivery of the EDRS Mission Operation Center MOC based in Redu. The role includes complex issue resolution, coordinating information requests from other departments, and working with external parties About EDRS The objectives of the European Data Relay Satellite System EDRS initiative is to improve the quality of the data service and thereby enhance the operational reliability and independence of European and Canadian space infrastructures. The improvement in the quality of the data service is to be provided by a space based data relay system supporting data links between user spacecraft in low earth orbit LEO and user ground stations. In particular, the services offered by earth observation missions will be upgraded considerably since the EDRS will enable such missions to offer near real time access to data for example for disaster relief and security applications without being subject to geographical or weather constraints. Today space based data relay services are not offered on a commercial basis and are available only for institutional use to a few nations in the world. The EDRS will make space based data relay services available to European and Canadian space projects. The EDRS will use optical and Kaband technology to provide the data links to the user spacecraft. The Senior QA Engineer role on MSG4 will provide QA support to the LEOP and System Commissioning activities, including the related Reviews, and to the hand over of the MSG System to the Operations and Services to Users Department OPS. TASKS EXPERIENCE The Key Person will be part of the GEO QA Team which provides support to the GEO Programmes MTG and MSG. Herhis tasks will be allocated in support of the MTG Ground Segment activities, in particular in support of mission operations systems, in accordance with the plan and priorities assigned by the GEO QA Programme Manager and the MTG GS QA Engineer in closed coordination with the MTG and MSG Management level of the area of activities where the Key Person is allocated. In this framework, the main tasks of the Key Person will include the following 1. Implement EUMETSAT QA policies in the assigned areas, in accordance with the MTG and MSG System QA plans and all relevant applicable Standards, Technical and QA documents, Procedures and Working Practices that are applicable to the ongoing projects phases 2. Ensure that the assigned MTG and MSG processes are implemented in accordance with their relevant QA working practices and procedures 3. Support maintenance of GEO QA Working Practices and procedures Suggest and support the establishment of improvements of the available QA documentation, aiming at process efficiency and synergy 4. Support the establishment of metrics to measure the effectiveness of the main processes within the assigned areas. Support, as Review secretary, the Programme Reviews and Check Points planned for MTG and MSG, ensuring that the relevant Organisation Note arrangements are correctly implemented, and that the support tool to be used for the Reviews is properly configured and available 9. Support the MTG GS Facilities procurement activities and the connected processes, ensuring that the applicable QA requirements are correctly implemented 10. Support QA activities during the Facilities development and production process, interfacing with the EUMETSAT Technical Officers, the relevant crossdivisional EUMETSAT Teams and with the Industry Quality Assurance QAProduct Assurance PA counterparts 11. Support monitoring of the implementation of the agreed QA Plans and procedures within the Industry and others Organisations including ESA activities, including Subtiers 12. Support coordination of the anomaly and nonconformances review process in the assigned areas 13. The Key Person shall have at least 10 years of specific experience in Quality and Product Assurance QAPAin AerospaceSpace Programmes, and have good interpersonal and mediation skills. Specific experience on QAPA processes on satellite Ground Segments, satellite Mission Control and Operations is required, and experience on Satellite data processing will be considered an advantage.
