We are currently looking for an Antenna Systems Engineer to support our customer in Spain. Antenna Systems Engineer The company is within the TTI group, which comprise more than 150 engineers working in various technical domains. Key Tasks and Responsibilities The selected candidate will manage a team of 45 engineers. You will be responsible for the following tasks Design Implementation of Antenna measurement Systems Anechoic chambers of compact range, spherical field, flat scanner Antenna metrology. For the above areas you will have to support all antenna development stages from design and analysis up to measurements.When in charge of research and development or project support, you will handle direct interfaces with the prime activity contractors, participate in progress meetings and reviews, as requested, and provide appropriate feedback on the achieved progress and discussions. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in a relevant field Proven experience of at least 810 years in design and implementation of antenna measurement systems compact range, spherical field, flat scanner Solid knowledge in antenna metrology Knowledge of antenna industrial manufacturing and testing processes Expertise in using antenna modelling tools Experience in antenna testing Ability to manage a team of 45 engineers Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. JOB SUMMARY The Systems Engineer develops system concepts and architectures for new and existing space flight systems. Specifies interfaces between hardware and software to develop and integrate cohesive systems and products. Determines systems architecture specifications and working parameters for hardware and software compatibility and coordinates the development of subsystems and integrates the total system. Senior position includes specialized knowledge in application of duties and responsibilities. BASIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Has full autonomy to independently deliver on assigned tasks. Applies mature engineering knowledge to large andor complex projects in the design of products or tools. Depending on the difficulty of assigned problems, may require modification of established techniques and methods, and develop new approaches to reach a solution. This position, based near Frankfurt in Germany, is for a graduate consultant engineer with at least 5 years experience in the field of System Engineering for the development of remote sensing and Earth observation satellite systems. Our client is responsible for establishing and operating weather forecasting and Earth observation satellite programmes with associated data telemetry and dissemination operations. This position requires expert knowledge in several system engineering areas and disciplines covering requirements, architectural design and detailed definition of subsystems. The engineer will work in a multidisciplinary team reporting to the System Manager. The key experience and skills sought are Extensive System Engineering life cycle experience for the development of remote sensing and Earth observation systems At least 5 years experience in the field of systems engineering and architectural design ISO, software development, and space and ground system engineering processes and standards Experience in Model Based System engineering methods, techniques and tools Experience in the use of modelling and design tools in support of architectural design activities eg. This post is classified in the A2A4 grade band of the Coordinated Organisations salary scale. LOCATION ESOC, Darmstadt Germany, with a resident assignment to ECSAT, Harwell UK. DUTIES The postholder will report to the Head of the Ground Segment Engineering Support Office and will initially provide support to the Directorate of Telecommunications Integrated Applications DTIA in preparing and managing ARTES Advanced Research in Telecommunications Systems application activities. This will include evaluating application proposals and coordinating consultancy from other HSO experts managing applications contracts and reporting participating in reviews of application activities assisting analysis of the costbenefit and business case for integrated solutions supporting applications outreach events supporting the Head of Office in formulating and implementing the Office objectives and strategy, in particular for increasing collaboration in the area of ground segment engineering within ESA and with third parties. The incumbent will also provide functional support to ESA projects in the area of ground segment engineering. This involves defining the highlevel architecture of ground segment, data or service centres and associated systems specifying requirements at system and subsystem level specifying the internal and external interfaces in agreement with the relevant parties contributing to drafting and managing the relevant industrial contracts deploying, integrating and validating the ground segment, data or service centres at system and subsystem level contributing to establishing standards in the area of ground systems engineering and in specific areas relevant to the projects receiving the support promoting and participating in RT activities in the general area of system engineering and in specific areas relevant to the projects receiving the support. QUALIFICATIONS Applicants for this post should have a Masters degree or equivalent qualification in engineering. At least five years of relevant professional experience is required. They should have knowledge and experience of modern engineering technologies, methodologies and tools. Knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture SOA and Systems of Systems SoS frameworks would be an asset. They should also demonstrate knowledge of satellite communications, satellite navigation and satellitebased Earth observation. The ability to understand and respond to user needs is important for this post. Knowledge of business planning and business case evaluation is desirable. The postholder will be required to work in a diverse and international environment liaising with engineers in and outside the Department. Excellent team spirit, communication and relationshipmanagement skills are therefore required, together with a proactive attitude to problemsolving and the ability to deliver solutions in line with agreed objectives. The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these two languages is required together with a working knowledge of the other language.
