A vacancy has arisen for a Technical Innovations Systems Engineer with Astrium in Stevenage. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing new, bluesky technology services, against requirements from government organisations. This will involve managing Technical Innovations laboratories and demonstrations equipment, as well as the management and running of customer demonstrations. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in our Service Creation team from a technical and customerfacing perspective. It involves taking new technology from universities and startups, and bringing it into the wider Astrium product range, presenting it as part of our service range to a global customer base. The key responsibilities of the role are as follows Provide support to the Service Design Authority on the design of new services aligned to the provision of beyond line of sight services Enable the introduction of the Civil Security Service Carry out the design of the Civil Security Service enablers Manage the annual Expo, which will involve budget planning, project management, and targeting customers Management of service through Phase and Design reviews Provide weekly reports on in a timely manner Production of technical and other project documents Manage the vehicle fleet Set up and manage the laboratories Provide support to Business Development at demonstrations Interface with Business Winning and Service Creation on new service opportunities Travel globally when required The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience Qualified to Degree Level or equivalent Detailed understanding and the ability to produce high level transmission, RF and Network designs to support Data Management solutions evidenced by technical certificates of courses undergone and passed Expert in Satellite Communications technology Extensive baseband technology knowledge IP networks, addressing etc. Knowledge of Data Management regulations and technology Strong business acumen, and the ability to influence at a senior level Analytical approach Selfmotivated and proactive Supplier Management experience TO APPLY click here

Rover Mobility Systems Engineer

A Rover Mobility Systems Engineer is required with several years of engineering experience in the field of electronic, mechanical and system aspects relevant to the mobility of a surface rover. The Key Person shall be responsible for overall system engineering tasks associated with ensuring autonomous navigation of the rover to selected targets of scientific interest.
