A new opportunity has arisen for a Spacecraft Operations Engineer to support the Solar and Planetary Missions Division, with initial assignment to the ExoMars 2016 Mission. To begin with the primary areas of responsibility will include Platform subsystems TTC, communications and Data Relay Preparation, validation and maintenance of the internal and external interfaces for Mars data relay operations. The candidate may be requested to assume the responsibility and perform activities for additional subsystems or systems within the scope of general SOE services. All applicants require Previous experience in spacecraft platform subsystem operations Operational experience with interplanetary missions Understanding of Flight Control Team tasks and responsibilities pre and postlaunch Fluency in English, both in speech and writing Ability to coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields Each of the following would be considered advantageous Strong educational background in engineering or science Operational experience with TTC subsystems, data relay indirect operations concepts Handson experience with ground systems and facilities required to support spacecraft operations Previous experience with mission planning processes

Spacecraft Operations Engineer TTC Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the ExoMars Flight Control Team FCT, you will have the following responsibilities Support the TTC subsystem platform and act as back up of at least one spacecraftground subsystems AOCS, Data Handling, TTC, Payload instrument, Mission Control System, Simulator or Mission Planning Preparation, validation and maintenance of the internal and external interfaces for Mars data relay operations Coordinate TTC operations with relevant Ground Operations Engineers and Flight Dynamics Write and maintain operational procedures and reports Actively participate in the relevant technical meetings and teleconferences. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent Experience in spacecraft platform subsystems and operations i.e. OBDH, PowerThermal, propulsion system, instruments Operational experience with interdisciplinary missions Understanding of Flight Control Team tasks and responsibilities pre and postlaunch Ability to coordinate and interact with other service providers in operations and other fields Handson experience with ground systems and facilities required to support spacecraft operations is desirable Operational experience with TTC subsystems, data relay indirect operations concepts Previous experience with mission planning processes is advantageous Fluency in English is mandatory. Spacecraft Operations Engineering Services for XMMIntegral 1412056 Job Description Spacecraft Operations Engineering service to be provided for astronomy and fundamental physics missions operated by ESOC. The service will be delivered to XMMNewton INTEGRAL primarily in the first instance, but with the possibility of supporting other missions within the Astronomy and Fundamental Physics Missions Division at a later stage of the service provision. The primary areas of responsibility for this service are to support the Spacecraft Operations Managers in the the development of operations procedures for onboard thermal control of platform and instruments, deorbiting, mission control system and simulator migration and automation activities.
