ANSI was recently selected by U.S. Trade and Development Agency to carry out the U.S. Africa Clean Energy Standards Program, in partnership with Power Africa. Under initiative, ANSI will coordinate an initial 4 workshops in Sub-Saharan Africa in 2016. Workshop topics will cover wide range of technologies and challenges in the clean energy area, and ANSI will work with Power Africa, relevant industry associations, and USTDA to select the topics.

NEMA announced that ANSI Accredited Standards Committee C80 published ANSI C80.1-2015 American National Standard for Electrical Rigid Steel Conduit. Standard establishes requirements for electrical rigid steel conduit for use as a raceway for wires or cables of an electrical system. Raceway systems (conduit, fittings, and enclosures) are relied upon to provide mechanical protection for circuit conductors and to carry potentially dangerous fault currents.
