ANSI Essential Requirements and accreditation of U.S.-based standards developing organizations will be used as basis for feedback, and comments should be given by November 18. ANSI also encourages members to submit comments through their own organizations or to ANSI for information instead of inclusion.

In Mr. Bhatia’s editorial, "Globally Relevant Standards and Conformance Will Support Europe’s Vision for a Digital Single Market," he emphasizes that in order for Europe’s vision for a Digital Single Market to take hold, strategy will have to embrace the importance of international standards and global approaches to conformity assessment.

ANSI will host 1 hr webinar on November 19 at 3 pm EST to discuss ISO proposal for new field of activity on Halal with U.S. stakeholders. Submitted by Emirates Authority For Standardization & Metrology (ESMA), proposal reveals how strong international demand for Halal products and services provides opportunity for development of work program focusing on that area. ANSI also invites interested stakeholders to submit comments on Halal proposal by end of the business day on December 11, 2015.
