AAMA Garners ANSI Accreditation in accordance with ISO/IEC 17065.

American Architectural Manufacturers Association's (AAMA) air-water-structural product certification program was granted accreditation by ANSI in accordance with ISO/IEC 17065-2012. Scope of accreditation covers Doors and Windows (91.050.60). AAMA certification manager Jason Seals said that accreditation helps "ensure that products certified by AAMA licensees meet the product standards as claimed by their labeling and listings in the AAMA Certified Products Directory."

ANSI Committee participates in Engineering Standards Workshop.

ANSI's Committee on Education participated in September Engineering Standards Workshop hosted by Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. Monte Bogatz, the committee’s chair, joined 5 standards organizations, and CWRU faculty to raise level of awareness of standards education within the campus community. Over 150 graduate and undergraduate students attended the event, which provided an interactive forum to learn how standards impact student education and daily lives.

ANSI Accredited Committee revises standard for lamp ballasts.

ANSI Accredited Standards Committee C82 revised ANSI C82.6 American National Standard for Lamp Ballasts—Ballasts for High-Intensity Discharge Lamps—Methods of Measurement. Standard is updated to provide industry-wide consistency for products that have technological advantages of electronic ballasts and can be paired with existing low-frequency lamps. ANSI C82.6 also describes procedures to be followed and precautions to be taken in measuring performance of low-frequency ballasts for HID lamps.

ANSI, CII Sign MOU to boost Indo-U.S. standards cooperation.

American National Standards Institute (ANSI) signed renewed memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). In service of U.S.-India Strategic and Commercial Dialogue, MOU reaffirms ANSI's and CII’s commitment to working together to advance Indo-U.S. cooperation on standards and conformity assessment. Renewed MOU covers planned expansions to StandardsPortal website as well as plans to foster standards cooperation in various sectors.

ANSI Offers NFPA Standards via website license subscriptions.

Though its website, ANSI offers site license subscriptions for National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards. Over 1,300 of NFPA's current and historical standards, utilized to reduce worldwide burden of fire and other hazards on quality of life, are available. Site license provides multi-user access to specific standards from anywhere worldwide, and subscribers can create customized site license collection by selecting standards from different standards developers.
