The tasks will be the following Operate on a 247 shift basis all or part of the mission control system, which includes parts of the ground segment as well as the space segment Assist in configuring and testing the operational system to support the operations In case of ground or space segment anomaly take corrective action as necessary, applying the contingency emergency procedures approved for the mission to ensure spacecraft safety and the continuity of service provision to users Participate in other operationsrelated activities small system development, procedures development or maintenance etc. upon request of the Team Leader. Ideal candidate The candidates should have a solid background in a technical or electronic environment, to the level of Senior Technician. A formal qualification to ONC or HNC would be advantageous. Ex service personnel should have completed a service College apprenticeship in electronicstelecommunications, and possess a background in Avionics, Air Defence, Air Radar or Communications Should have a degree at least at BSc level in a related subject such as Aerospace Engineering, Telecommunications, Physics etc. Experience working with computer systems and PC literacy is required Database knowledge would be useful Candidates must be adaptable, selfdisciplined and able to work in a calm and correct manner under conditions of stress. The ideal candidate will have broad knowledge in flight and ground softwarefirmware development and spacecraft avionics systems engineering and design. The effort includes all phases in design, from defining software architecture, to implementation and test of software, to support of spacecraft operations during simulated and real missions, in collaboration on a daily basis with other team members and with the hardware counterparts. Prior experience with high reliability designs for example in aerospace, medical or automotive industries is a must.
