You will have the opportunity to provide engineering support to the Spacecraft Operations Engineering Service and the primary areas of responsibility are the AOCS subsystem. You are able to work independently The following skills would be highly desirable You are familiar with the ESOC environment You are familiar with satellite control systems, in particular SCOS2000 You have some experience dealing with external interfaces You are familiar with operational simulators, especially the ones based on SimSat You are familiar with interplanetary satellites You are able to multitask efficiently working on multiple activities, multiple subsystems and if applicable multiple missions simultaneously. About The Role We now have new opportunities for highly skilled Thermal Engineers to lead projects, work packages and staff within our Thermal Engineering Group. The Group works on a broad range of projects, for example, the MidInfrared Instrument for the James Webb Space Telescope, the SPICE instrument for Solar Orbiter, Optical Ground Support Equipment for Meteosat Third Generation and the Broadband Radiometer Instrument for the ESA EarthCARE satellite. About You As the suitable candidate you will have a physics or engineering degree 21 or above or relevant experience, while a degree in space engineering and relevant professional membership are desirable. You will have significant space or satellite industry experience, including experience leading design and analysis activities to develop and verify thermal control systems to meet project requirements. You will also demonstrtate specialist knowledge within the thermalcryogenics domain and experience with a wide range of thermal control techniques. You will display project andor work package management experience and extensive experience of ESATANTMS, along with line management experience and leadership skills. You will demonstrate knowledgeexperience of CAD packages relevant standards e.g., ECSS, ISO9001 finance, schedule and risk management producing technical documentation authoring technical papers and presentations at conferences. Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills are required. To be considered for a senior role you will be an internationally recognised expert in Spacecraft Thermal Engineering.
